K_Kinnison
Had a good talk on the phone with my girl Thursday night. Talked for about 90 minutes and discussed some serious issues. I think we are starting to get into the phase of "Is this really it?" and starting to find our boundries, and beliefs. Still on for dinner next Thursday and a weekend at her place. Oh and i have a friend who might be planning a Rockband party for his B-day
Keyan Farlander
Played some Beatles Rock Band/Rock Band 2 with some friends last night. There were four of us, so we had all the parts. I had to do most of the singing, though, since no one else would man up. Pansies Seriously, though, it's pretty hard to sing a song in those games that you've never heard before. edlib
Salem is nice... if a bit overly touristy. Don't think I'll be rushing back there any time soon. But it was an OK day... especially on someone else's tab. Spent this morning with M. and had lunch with her, before she had to run off to meetings and work. Might be getting together with her tomorrow, too. A mutual friend is having a cookout and party, and she expressed interest in going. If he doesn't have it, then we might still get together and do something else. I'll have to come up with a good backup plan... I think I'll take it easy the rest of the day, catch up on some rest, and maybe do a couple of things around the house that need doing.
Rogue15
the 5k race was awesome! It took me 29:45 to complete it. I'm still breaking the shoes in, not hurting too bad. when i got back, just played 360 all day...mainly Oblivion. Just got 3-4 quests to complete on that...fighters guild, thieves guild, and the main quest. then i'll have to buy the shivering isles and get those achievements. edlib
Saw "9" tonight. It was OK. The animation was well done... though the plot could have used a bit more fleshing out. It might have made a really good short film... but it seemed stretched in feature-length. Looks like a cookout tomorrow. Hopefully the weather clears. I'm still getting water in my car. Damn. Something tells me I'm going to be chasing this problem for a while...
K_Kinnison
oh and the trick to doing the singing parts in rock band... you can hum. Been watching the Samurai 7 Anime. Got my big stompy robot fix in with it. Kinda interesting tho some of the animation work is rather crappy. Really bad when the introduce a new character and the whole scene looks like it was done by a 10 year old with a palsic hand. I thought it was some fevorish dream until the scene changed. a lot of "off camera" dialouge sometimes. One of the main characters doesn't even have a mouth and is used as the comedic relief so he gets a lot of dialouge. Still good story, and some great plot likes. Even tho it is a homage to Akira Kurosawa's original "Seven Samurai" which is a must see for any movie buff
edlib
Spent the afternoon with M. and friends from work. It's really the first time (other than when we were first introduced, that is) that all my worlds have collided like this. First: Driving range. (Learned that I am really, REALLY bad at swinging a golf club...) Then: Cookout at my buddy's house. I ate... Too. Much. Food. (Ugh...) It was a good time. I think she had fun too... Rogue15
spent the day resting my feet. got the shin splints again. i am planning to go run tomorrow morning...gotta go to work 2-9 afterwards. i managed to get a few achievements in oblivion, completed the fighter's guild quest....and started up Assassin's Creed again. I always forget how easy it is to lose track of time in that. also about the 5k race yesterday, well afterwards we went out to breakfast with my friend, his mom, and his mom's coworkers (old ladys lol) anyways we got talking and well my friend decides to tell them that i'm training to join the army. i figured they were a buncha political-party freaks after they were all 'OMG NOOOOOO DON'T DO THAT!!!!' so i was like 'yeah nothing can change my mind on this' and said nothing more after. How can I explain my reasons? I have a good job right now, could do pretty much whatever I want, but somehow I don't feel like I belong here, something just doesn't feel right. It's hard to explain to people why I don't have the desire to own a house and get married and live the american dream, so I just say nothing, smile and nod. edlib
Long day at work yesterday. (10:00 am to 11:00 pm...) Getting ready for round two... 21 opera singers... all on body mics... with a rock band behind them... with fight scenes and dancing. Work gets easier every day! I could have gotten another couple of hours sleep easily if I had known they weren't going to anything with the extra time we gave them here today. Rogue15
work was boring as ever. at least most of my customers were cool. i got that 'party in the usa' by miley cyrus stuck in my head. yay for walmart tvs blaring the hook of that song every 3 minutes. it is a catchy song though. planning on getting another membership to the gym on thursday, since my one friend who wants to go into the navy police (Master at Arms i guess?) wants someone to train with. it's kinda cool, cause the gym is on the way to the spot i've been running at. got my hours switched for thursday so i don't have to go in until 1pm. i lost an hour for the switch, but i'm already cut down anyways hours-wise so i really don't care. i'm kinda nervous about my sister's wedding, my grandma tends to be a party-crasher, fun-ruiner, downer, etc. has never really given a crap about us or my mom, and well my sister decided to invite her to the wedding. I really hope she finds a stupid reason not to come.
edlib
Got through the show. Wasn't too difficult. Got home last night just about 1 am. Back into work today by 10 am. Blah. 2 15-hour work days back-to-back, followed by an early morning... great planning. First week of the semester and I'm already totally exhausted. New record? Maybe... (though probably not.) Japanese movie tonight after work with M., and then an early-morning car appointment again... so I won't be catching up on sleep tonight.
Zargon
I laugh at the early morning 10am start comment. sometimes I have to come in at 6 am. too bad you arent closer, I would poke around the car for you, and I can be paid in red meat and beer
edlib
Sometimes I have to come in that early too... but I rarely (on show nights) get out before 11:30 pm. Makes for a long day... and then add the (at least) 2 hours of commute to that as well (because I don't consider that to really be "my time.") I didn't get home until almost 1am last night. In bed around quarter of 2... To be ready to be at work at 10, I have to be thinking about getting up by 6... 6:30 at the latest. To be in by 6? I dunno... up by 3:30am most likely. On the road by 4:45... Well... IF the subways around here even ran that early...

edlib
Driving in (if it's without traffic... big "if"...) only takes about 20 minutes. But getting to the subway station and parking is about 10 minutes... and on a good day the subway only takes 30 to 45 minutes. On a bad day?... The sky's the limit. I always have to give 1:15 just to be on the safe side.
Zargon
I was going to ask how it could be so long, only because my brothers commute via train was like 40 minutes to cambridge he moved though, no idea where to though, he told me, but obviously I have no reference point for geography there
Rogue15
cut 30 seconds off my run, so i'm now down to 18:00 2 mile. only going to get faster now since i'm running 2.7 miles, walking .7 miles back and then running the last 2 miles to the car. seriously, it's the best place i've found to run at, and it's pretty motivating because of all the scenery. i'm considering bringing a "marker" with me when i run and drop it when i have ran for 16 minutes, then the next time i go, bring another marker and see if i can run farther and drop that one, and on the way back, pick up the first one, etc. it's a good idea, no? edlib
I was going to ask how it could be so long, only because my brothers commute via train was like 40 minutes to cambridge he moved though, no idea where to though, he told me, but obviously I have no reference point for geography there Yeah... If I was traveling all on the same line, it would probably be a bit less. For a straight shot to Cambridge from Quincy on the Red Line, 40 sounds right. But I also have to switch lines to the trolley cars (Green Line) from Park Street Station out to the Back Bay, and that's where a lot of the delays set in. It takes me 20 minutes tops to walk that distance... but there have been times I have sat that long in a train between stations, not moving. The train I was on tonight broke down, actually. 20 minutes dead on the tracks. But I was with a gorgeous lady... so the delay wasn't really bothering me that much. In fact... had it gone on longer, I probably wouldn't have minded a bit. (Incidentally... I have figured out the one ABSOLUTE SURE-FIRE way to attract female attention: Be seen with a really hot babe. Seriously... I noticed more than one woman, who would never, EVER glance my way otherwise, looking me over at both the movie and on the train tonight when I had M. next to me. Like a: "Oh wait He's with her? Hmmm... He must really have something special goin' on! I wonder..." kind of reaction.) The movie was OK. Kind of a Japanese take on the old "Airport" disaster movies... but much more efficient and responsible. Had some funny moments. Very realistic flight deck scenes. Car repairs, part 2 in the morning. We'll see how it goes. Rain predicted all next week...
