Astrotoy7
The modern ''Hallmark Holidays'' are Valentines Day, Mothers Day and Fathers Day. They are all based on much older traditions, simply repackaged for modern times. Are we going to be grumpy about a special day for for mom and dad too? It's nice to designate a day to commemorate with your significant other. For many couples it isnt above cards and gifts, but usually involves a night out, or lunch/dinner at a nice place and some other stuff The Godmother would have me 'whacked' for stating in a PG13 place. Its actually pretty similar to many other weeks as far as practise goes, but perhaps a couple of extra things thrown in to make it special. It also has its bad side, as like a full moon, it brings out some unwanted emotions in people who are unable to adjust to their solitude. It is part of human nature, and an understandable response. Dont worry about it. Tomorrow is another day mtfbwya

Astrotoy7
You forgot Christmas and Halloween. And corporate rape =/= modern repackaging. I have ranted Hallows Eve before and as one of LFNs few Islamic members, wont touch Constantine's Conversion of Saturnalia aka Christmas with a 10ft pole, lest I be accused of some religious troublestartin' Jesus is actually the most quoted Prophet in the Kuran, and equally loved by all students of the those who have read The Book properly. Yet most of the Muslims of the world dont celebrate 25 December, curious non? *teleports out* mtfbwya
