acdcfanbill
I'll try to find it though when I can be bothered XD I think playing through both games is enough indication that it's true though since the similarities are that obvious. Ah, well I thought the similarities was basically one game mechanic/hook that LttP started, and was subsequently used in Zelda games after that, ala OoT and Oracle of Ages. I didn't play Twilight Princess but it appeared to use a similar one too.
Darth Avlectus
No longer care? Dude, it's still arguably the best Zelda ever put out. Well, I hardly ever see it or other games of that era mentioned anymore. I disagree, and raise you Majora's Mask. ^^^Except for when PX posts stuff of course. And GTA:SW, stop trying to act older than everyone else. Not trying to, but it does make one kind of grumpy when nobody you talk to has even heard of N64 titles--or it's like the neighbor's kids come over and see your SNES with the original SF2 and are like "WOW! You must be old!" I take in stride of course but surely you can understand that cantankerous feeling you get with all the new gen? Hmm? The fad is now on graphics and how new gen blows away Gamecube, dreamcast, PS2, and XBOX. I got my SNES in 1994 and later got a NES. I'm sure most people here have great 8 and 16-bit games they still love. Heck, I'm sure some here still remember playing Pong and arcades. Don't mistake my posting--I'm actually quite glad to see my fellow swampies are into the older games. (Takes some of the gloom off!) I just can't believe believe all the pre-teen adolescents everywhere asking about games made in the 90's before they were born. Especially considering the 90's weren't that long ago. Guess I'm just having one of those moments of reflection. Thanks for the love.

MrWally
@GTA:SWcity I think it's more the fact that you're acting as if no one here knows anything pre-xbox when you're posting on a gaming forum for a game that came out in the 90s with a community of primarily "older" (meaning not adolescent) individuals. Hell, I think I'm one of the younger frequent posters here, and while I never owned an N64, some of my fondest memories growing up were visiting my cousin's house and playing theirs. I also vividly remember their SNES and Sega consoles.
Lynk Former
Ah, well I thought the similarities was basically one game mechanic/hook that LttP started, and was subsequently used in Zelda games after that, ala OoT and Oracle of Ages. I didn't play Twilight Princess but it appeared to use a similar one too. Nope it's much, much more than that. The have the same number of temples and also the same "two different versions of the same realm" deal. Plus the reason the Ocarina was chosen to be the title instrument is because it's actually an item that was already present within the game because it was already in ALttP. The original art style for OoT was a lot more cartoonish to try to emulate the style of ALttP but changed when they decide to make an original game out of it. @ GTA: This is a place where people mostly focused on PC gaming and a bit of Xbox... you're not going to get many people who are into Nintendo or bothered to really play much of the older consoles. Darth Avlectus
*Looks at original post* Damn. I must've been pretty grumpy at that moment. My bad. All I meant was basically it's in one of those limbo game categories "not too old/not cutting edge" so I hardly ever hear of it anymore. I actually meant it in a pleasantly surprised way. Anyhow, what I particularly enjoyed about this game was the subtle day/night game mechanic. Not one of those things you normally tend to think about, but makes all the difference. Gives a sort of concept of time during gameplay. While not the first to incorporate this mechanic in real time gameplay (refer to CV2:Simon's Quest--a fav), I don't believe any before this did it as seamlessly. That got +awesome points from me. --If only Perfect Dark had more of it. Or more of that wrist mounted laser + 1 hit kill mode in the storyline. I loved that in combat sim.
