Fealiks Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 I propose everyone here vote for Davius' entry It's 2nd place right now.
Haggis Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Okay, here's my entry for week 3! He played 'pin the tail on the donkey'. With my Manx cat as the donkey.
Jeopando Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Looks like the final round has started. Thank god for those Telltale picks. We actually have some funny lines to choose from. So, should we now maybe choose one common entry and vote it to death just to be safe? What do you think? I kind of like "He dug up my perfectly good X!!".
Thrik Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I went for the eye one. I am surprised how bad some are, like the George Bush one. I mean, the guy isn't even in office any more.
Gabez Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Yeah. And I'm pretty sure that "insulfeated" isn't a real word. "Grogged" and "tells" are also completely wrong. Hooray for raping the English language.
Jeopando Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 ^^ I might forgive those little things since the posters might be from all over the world and I'm sure Telltale would fix the lines if they won. I might forgive that if the lines we're any good. They're not. We really have to pull together to stop them from winning. Telltale's done a lot already to try and have some decent winners and now it's our turn.
SyntheticGerbil Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I had to go with the dug up the X one. Some of those are very long and I also have no idea why the George Bush one was popular enough to make it in a final. It's not like CMI had Guybrush or anyone making Bill Clinton jokes like Leno or something.
neon_git Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Oh my days. I've not really been following so but just to check, those six are the six most popular entries and have a chance at being in the game? ********, they're terrible. I hope Telltale rigs the vote and then never does this again.
Fealiks Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 I voted for the "he dug up my X" one. I can't believe the "He insulfeated me in a major sword fight by claiming that my fighting skills were equivalent to George Bushes language skills" one is a finalist... Insulfeated .... language skills Oh, the irony.
Jeopando Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 ^^ Wait! Language skills...insulfeated...I...I think I got it. I think that's the joke! It's purposeful! ...But it doesn't really make it any better. In fact, it makes it slightly worse.
Edward van Helgen Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I really don't like the parrot tatoo and the George Bush finalists. I don't think a joke about George Bush could ever be good in a Monkey Island game. But that aside, I kinda like the one about the pirate with one eye.
SyntheticGerbil Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Well I guess it could be worse. Some of the ones that involve Guybrush with illegitimate children or cheating on Elaine could have made it...
Edward van Helgen Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Well I guess it could be worse. Some of the ones that involve Guybrush with illegitimate children or cheating on Elaine could have made it... "No Guybrush, YOU are my father." <Imperial march Theme playing in the background while pirate cuts of Guybrush's left hand>
Fealiks Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 Well I guess it could be worse. Some of the ones that involve Guybrush with illegitimate children or cheating on Elaine could have made it... There were so many of those, too...
SyntheticGerbil Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 There were so many of those, too... I guess it's a popular concept among many Monkey Island fans?
SyntheticGerbil Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Well, maybe not so much the ones that browse Mixnmojo. Though I bet there's tons of fan fiction out there where Guybrush has 12 kids from 7 pirate ladies and regularly has steamy love affairs with everyone except Elaine.
