I hate Fox, Rush, and so on but I'm not forced to listen to them so they can rant all they want away from me. Its just a shame that the Radio now belongs entirely to the "right" wing. Even TV has Fox. With the "right" pretty much dominating Radio right now and Fox with more viewers than the "left" channels... you know, despite all the "liberals are taking over" threats I hear, the "right" in America probably has more media exposure than the "left". At least Conservative talk they switch it up. But Air America really had nothing. It wasn't entertaining. And they really didn't have a "Rush Limbaugh" that everyone could love or hate. They were a very newcomer. They really didn't have anybody who was as established as El Rushbo. They lost their bigger voices to actual politics. Something that Rush prefers not to do. I know I mention Rush a lot, but he's the most well known talk radio host. Conservative talk has just so many more opinionated personalities(or blowhards if you want) that get people to want to listen to what they have next. When I was listening to Air America, they spent so much time telling me how all Republicans were too stupid to listen to their show I figured I would just assume not listen. They didn't talk about issues until after the third commercial break, and by then I was almost home(had a long drive). At least I can agree with Rush once in and while, with Savage I get a good laugh, but the only thing I agree with on his show is England for banning him from their county. Rush is a good left right center gauge. If you can't stand a word of what he says, you're too far left. If you absolutely love what he says you're too far right. If you can agree with some of what he says, but think he took it too far, You're probably ok. Air America should have actually listened to Conservative talk stations before setting out to bash all Conservatives. There are a lot of shows on "Conservative" talk stations that have nothing to do with politics, or religion that are entertaining on their own. Goes well with all the other voices on the radio, just like there's the one conservative news network on TV and all the rest liberal. TBH you don't get the full story unless you see it all. It's not so much that they create the criminals they complain about, they are those criminals given appropriate circumstances where the objective of democrats is to elect otherwise in the face of adversity. Perhaps counter-intuitively democrats perform this by adamant institution of inalienable rights, thus, the right to disagree...with anything. Since ratings generally indicate the number of viewers, and CNN's have been sinking for some time now, that'd be a feat. CNN, and to a greater degree its sister networks, have some longevity working to their advantage, but all are suffering ratings wise. Almost enough to make you wonder how they justify their newsreader's outsized salaries. I'm gonna go on a limb and suggest that a big part of the reason that the "left" does so poorly on the radio is due to a dearth of on-air talent and the fact that they pretty much already have a lock (and have had for sometime) on tv and the newspapers. With there being CNNHN CNN CNNFN they may have a higher viewership combined than FoxNews and Fox Business, however Foxnews alone would beat out CNN and maybe even combined with CNNHN but the three combined beats out Fox's two networks. Course after watching CNNHN for a couple hours tonight, I'd be surprised if people still turn to it intentionally(I have to for work UGH!!!!). I mean HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU HAVE TO TALK ABOUT TIGER WOODS TRISTS. Why is OCTOMOM still in the news? Who cares about some toddler in another state that I had NO interaction with nor will I. Do we really have to hear every detail about some baby killin mom and her every text/phone call/toilet paper smear? UGH I can't stand CNNHN.... And I don't have to hear the same 5 songs they play every morning on the "music" station. If I want to hear music, I'll hook up the MP3 player. If I were to play every song I have on MP3 on shuffle, I could listen for 30 years and not hear the same song twice. Yes they are all legal. About 50% are from local bands. Quite a few are from bands that were signed, but shelved. Then there's my dad's Audio book collection. He had better than a couple thousand books. QFT but imo the local news is better at fearmongering being that I don't listen to radio politics (or radio at all for that matter), but then again local "soft" news stations *cough*Fox-11*cough* don't usually have anything better to report other than robberies, shootings, and local miss teen pageants.
