Ghost Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Got this from CNN An American was detained in North Korea for trespassing on the country's border with China, state-run KCNA reported Thursday. The unidentified individual was detained on Monday, and the incident is under investigation, according to KCNA's report. Not much more info than that, American Intel likes to keep things quiet. Methinks he was working for the CIA, and got caught reporting info to the agency. That's my assumption. Comments Anyone?
Ping Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Anything's possible, but I have my doubts that a trained CIA agent would be impudent enough to try and walk across the border. It was probably just an innocent civilian who North Korea decided to arrest simply because s/he was American.
Ghost Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 hmm, Korea is paranoid, maybe it was a media reporter
Darth Avlectus Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 ^^^That was my thought. Also since Americans are all assumed to be worth a lot of money abroad, it may be scheming and using civil law to try to pinch money.
Jae Onasi Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 CIA? Isn't that a bit conspiracy theorist? There are a lot more tourists in China, many of whom can manage to get themselves lost quite easily, than there are CIA agents. It's not like the borders are well marked in many rural areas.
Jae Onasi Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 i'm the ciaShhhh, you're not supposed to break cover. CIA rule #556788585ffd4339449
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 sorry i'm a lil bit high y'all i'm not the cia
Ghost Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 well, Korea also admitted holding a "second" american along with another being captured on Christmas Eve. Apparently they were travelling "illegally" from China to N. Korea. Wow, blame China, how sad
