Darth Avlectus
Source. The Article Take any bike rides this holiday weekend? Jed Mildon did, but he didn't exactly have a basket and a bell. The BMXer made history by completing the first triple back flip on a BMX bike in his native New Zealand. The Guinness Book of World Records was on hand to document the feat. So were video cameras, including one on Mildon's helmet. Take a look (if you dare): (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.) The Article cont. The ramp was 66 feet high and the launch was 11 feet high. Gulp. You may think this sort of advancement happens all the time. It doesn't. The first double back flip in a contest was by Dave Mirra in 2000 -- though Troy Sircombe was the first to ever pull it off outside of a contest -- which means it may be years before we see a quadruple. So buckle up and enjoy the ride with Mildon. He's earned it. Makes you want to get out on your bike and go off some of those ramps in your neighborhood again, no? Darth333
Triple back backflips on a BMX, why would anyone want to do that? Not only it's totally risky (which can sometimes be justified ) but totally useless. I guess some people really need to show in public how good they are at being stupid... I suppose it is another manner of "proving oneself" when one has nothing else to do... Roller coasters ftw!

LordOfTheFish
That's pretty amazing. but totally useless. He is doing something he loves while breaking a world record. What is useless about that?
Liverandbacon
Not only it's totally risky (which can sometimes be justified) but totally useless. As are all the best things in life. For instance, while skydiving for recreational purposes is useless and risky, but I still love it. I wouldn't do it without checking my chute and any other equipment very carefully though. Minimizing the risk of an activity without removing too much fun is just the sensible thing to do.
Darth Avlectus
Triple back backflips on a BMX, why would anyone want to do that? Adrenaline rush. The post-rush ecstasy is like getting high. <snip> I guess some people really need to show in public how good they are at being stupid...<snip> I beg to differ. The Jackass crew isn't anywhere around there. *runs away*
Ctrl Alt Del
Makes you want to get out on your bike and go off some of those ramps in your neighborhood again, no? Not for me, it doesn't. I'm all too happy of being able to ride without using my hands. It is as daring as I'll get on top of a bike. I'll just leave that to the pros. Qui-Don Jorn
That's pretty amazing. He is doing something he loves while breaking a world record. What is useless about that? Ditto. But I wouldn't try it..I like a little more artistic-ness. OH WOW!!!! I just went searching for "OLD" video of my friends and found stuff as recent as march of this year. The garage they are in was discovered by myself and the guy with the beard and bball hat turned up. Who was my roommate not but 5 1/2 years ago. Its right off 17th street and Peachtree, Qui Gon Glenn would know where it is. I quit riding around 5 years ago. Oddly enough I just talked to Jeff a few days ago for the first time in about 4.5 years. Arrgh why cant I get the video to embed?
