(not meaning to offend any country lovers out there) my two favorites are rap and soft rock and I didn't know which so I just closed my eyes and picked.

The Doctor Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I intensely dislike labeling any band of musical group within a single label in any kind of discussion. It never leads anywhere but genre wars, in my experience. To avoid starting arguments you have to be incredibly generic, and you end up with terms that fit many bands with completely different sounds. For example, the only term from the above poll that fits both, say, Nickelback and Evanescence, is "Rock". But they're two distinctly different bands that I think most people would agree are entirely different specific genres. Of the above listed genres though, I'd say the ones I listen to most are "Rock", "Heavy metal", and "Classic rock". My favourite bands range from the likes of Epica, Within Temptation, and Amberian Dawn to Led Zeppelin and Queen to the Beatles. I even enjoy a few "Soft rock" artists, such as Matthew Morrison or John Barrowman. I also listen to a great deal of instrumental and movie soundtracks, my favourites being the commercial albums of the film industry's Immediate Music.

urluckyday Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 If I HAD to choose between all of them, I'd say Hip-Hop. Love it. But really anything from Jazz, Rock, a little bit of "pop," even some disco thrown in there is cool. Just keep me away from Country and Justin Bieber, and I'm usually alright.

LDR Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Nickelback has nothing to do with music. Nickelback is music? I like 70's-80's Hard Rock, and pre-2000 Heavy Metal. To give you a rough idea, here's some of the stuff I listen to: Van Halen, Scorpions, Dokken, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Jimi Hendrix, Doobie Brothers, Queensrÿche, Foghat, Robin Trower, John Mellencamp, Tesla, Deep Purple, and Thin Lizzy.
