I believe that almost everybody (besides convicted felons and mentally ill) has the right to self defense, unless you all want police and national guardsmen patrolling 24/7, i also think there should be a required course to go through so you have to test out on knowledge of what you can and cannot do with whatever firearm you desire to carry. and open carry should be completely allowed. sure i know i did state that people can get them illegally, etc. but at least going through a course and having paperwork stating and signed by yourself that you won't use it in self-defense unless absolutely deemed necessary to protect lives. by having that paperwork you should be able to buy whatever guns you want, and as many as you want and you just have to renew the certification every year, basically take a knowledge course of what your legal rights in using it are.

but, idk it sounds like you're just mad because your wife won't let you have a gun.

It's not about self defense anymore. IMHO, there is NO REASON for a CITIZEN to own a full auto 50 clip Assault Rifle. Zero need. You can defend yourself just find with a pistol or a semi automatic rifle.

Besides, you think that if a revolution went off in this country, the military would REALLY be afraid of a few thousand people with AR's? We can FLY A BOMBER from Missouri to South Korea, non stop, and drop "Dummy" bombs with pin point accuracy. Think about that. The government of the U.S. would CURB STOMP any militia. So don't bring up "defending against the government" because the government can seriously **** up your ****. I mean, we can launch missiles from a destroyer and land them within 10 ft. of a target. Or the Drones. Or the Air Force. We don't even need boots on the ground to seriously demoralize or scatter any force on the planet.

Assault Rifles should only be in the hands of S.W.A.T and military forces. No civilian needs anything that goes full auto. That's insane.

Yesterday was the longest day at work I've had in a long time. A 90 minute show somehow ran into 2 and a half hours... and the whole day was chaos and stress. A great way to go back to "life as normal" in Boston. :dozey:

At least I have today off... which seems weird, considering all the days we had off recently... but, according to my schedule, I'm working the next 13 days in a row... some of them 12+ hour shifts. And I might (probably will...) be working more days in a row beyond that... but those schedules haven't been posted yet.

I've heard that conspiracy theory. I don't buy it.

It would take the cooperation and silence of hundreds, if not thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of people who were all in on it to ever make a fake bombing look real... Runners, police, spectators, doctors and hospital staff, as well as the "media" (which is hardly a single entity...)

And all for what, exactly?!?? What would be the end game for the government to buy the assistance and/or silence of that many people? And why would they all choose to co-operate... especially in something so very sinister sounding? Or not talk about it afterwards when the results of what they did became clear?

And, finally, how could a government so capable as to pull it off in the first place get found out so quickly and easily by a handful of paranoid website operators and bloggers who saw through it all instantly? And why wouldn't that same sinister government choose to seek those who are exposing them and "silence" them immediately, but instead let the "truth" of the event go out into the world... ruining the carefully laid plans, probably years, if not decades in the making?

Edlib, yeah, i starting to think in same way as you, but actually even don't know what to think.

Anyway, Russian media now are just filled with such of conspiracy theories, making parallels mostly to 9/11 (that was used for invasion to Iraq and Afghanistan). People really afraid that the USA now wants to start a campaign in Caucasus that should disturb there's weak stability that was established there in last decade. Literally people says that "US has very serious troubles with their economy, so they looking for a way to resolve it starting a new war where fighting sides should have only losses, while the USA get a gain".

Some of idiots even says that those two Chechens committed those crime as revenge for US support to Syrian terrorists. Another people says: The United States got harsh but necessary lesson. In middle of 90s they directly called Chechen terrorists as "Freedom Fighters", supporting widely them in their war against Russia. They took shelter to many of those terrorists, treated them as heroes, so now they pay for "carrying snake in pocket".

Anyway, Russian society remains very anti-american for all of those troubles that the USA made to Russia in recent decades, so i really don't know what to think.

Most of the people here doing any saber-rattling are shouting about Islam in general, or shutting the country down to any immigration.

I so far haven't heard ANYBODY make mention of moving against Russia or even any former Soviet satellite countries over this.

Most people are still currently looking at this as only two individuals with some radical ideas working alone, without outside foreign influence or assistance... even most of the usual warhawks. Only the most extremist fringe folks are coming up with theories that make your head spin with the wackiness.

believe which? the chemicals in syria or the outside influences with the boston terrorists?

i think the terrorists were helped by al qaeda, it's clearly part of something...look at the foiled plot in canada, the resin letter send to our president. all within the same week.

Conspiracies theories thrive on the idea that there is more to something then there is. Too often people forget the idea of Occam's razor. I used to visit the ABoveTopSecret forums and had to stop because people only used facts that supported their idea and dismissed any rationality or contrary proof. There were still people there who firmly believe that the US never landed astronauts on the moon Regardless of any proof to prove they did.

I fully believe Sirya's government has used chemical weapons. Why else would they prevent inspectors from going into certain areas? But unlike some government leaders, the US government this time is looking for ironclad proof that it has been done. More then likely the use of Chemical weapons has been limited.

K_Kinnison, there's lot of reasons to prevent inspectors in certain areas. Especially when these "inspectors" are from West and directly supports terrorists. I telling this because of i saw such of situation by my own eyes when so called "inspectors" from West visited positions of Russian troops in Northern Caucasus and then Chechen terrorists suddenly knows details that they just could not to know. During 1st Chechen War such of situations were common... until Russian soldiers just executed some of those western "inspectors" (well, they started just to afraid to visit positions of Russian troops). This is the same. If such of "inspectors" should enter, then they must exit only with lead implant in head. Western dirty supporters of terrorists cannot be trusted. So i really understand Syrian army in this question: western inspectors has nothing to do there in combat zone. That ones who anyway got their way to the zone must be neutralized by any method.

Rogue15, i telling about those guy with smashed legs in chair. Don't you think his wounds looks unnatural?

Rogue15, well, i think the best way to let it fall into Al Qaeda's hands is to permit NATO's invasion into Syria. We everybody know that the terrorists being widely supported by Washington and London, as also they being supported from the the central source of terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Also tactics of Syrian army are clear. They now just works as some sort of "mince machine", because of it's useless just to kick the terrorists from territory of Syria. Terrorists should invade again from territory of Turkey and Iraq. In fact now all Islamic fundamentalists fights against Syria, their recruits are outnumbered. These fanatics mostly has extremely low combat skills, but there's really many of them. Also they has wide financial and weapon support from the West (situations when Syrian army captures even pretty advanced NATO arms become very common). That's why Syrian army just let the terrorists enter, then surround them and neutralize. After complete of the operation Syrian army returns to it's positions, let another portion of "meat" to enter and then mince them. The goal is to kill and mutilate as many as possible of these terrorist monkeys. Looks very brutal, but unfortunately it is the only way to explain them that they are wrong. More i can say, terrorists started to recruit fanatics from even Caucasus and Pamir, and this is very good sign that means that in Arab and other Middle East countries the mobilization resource is mainly depleted.

Syrian army looks successful in such of tactics, especially because of absolute majority of Syrian people supports Al Assad (well, he wasn't very popular before the conflict, but now, after people see that terrorists does to civilians, Al Assad become extremely popular as the one who can stand against mediaval brutality and ignorance of those Islamic fanatics). Syrian army successfully clean territories from the terrorists once and once again, especially because of Russia finally started to support Syria with recon UAVs (damn Kremlin yet took Syria no one strike UAV, while they desperately need it). There's pretty many of video reports of Russian media on YouTube that shows how does Syrian army clean territories from donkey fu@#ers, and everything looks very good. That's why i don't think they uses any kind of chemical weapon. I much sooner believe that terrorists uses it to provoke invasion of the West to Syria.

But if this happen, then Russia and China will just smash America and Saudi Arabia. And this is World War III.

I hardly think "An international team of inspectors" sent by the UN, are from the west, and support terrorists. Heck, even the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov wants more information to see if it is true. He isn't saying "No we cannot let those inspectors in because they are helping terrorists" like you are law_snoll

Just because you have one account where it was not true, does not means all others are the same.

And most of the Syrian governments tactics have been holing up the rebels in a certain area, and blasting the whole area (Civilians included) with Artillery. We can only guess at what is really happening because we are only getting statements from witnesses and no first hand accounts for third parties. BECAUSE THOSE THIRD PARTY PEOPLE ARE NOT BEING ALLOW TO SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING by the Syrian government.

So we end up with BOTH sides in the syrian civil war blaming the other for what is happening and it just escalating while tens of thousands of civilians get blown up in the cross-fire.

K_Kinnison, yes, i understand. I just talking about everything directly, without those "diplomatic words". I just very well understand what exactly Kremlin wants and what exactly hides behind words of Putin and Lavrov. When i say that West supports the terrorists, then i'm right. If i'm not, then where from the terrorists gets NATO arms, why those "club of friends of Syria" exists and why does western media only blames Al Assad, preferring to show the terrorists as freedom fighters? Why does State Secretary of they United States directly says that "Russia and China will pay for their position of defending of Al Assad"?

When Kremlin officially states that "there's need more careful and detailed investigation", then if translate it from "language of diplomacy" it means only one thing: we don't trust western experts, they will make that conclusions that Washington order them to make. More, Russia says it because of we had lot of our own experience of "Western truth". And who said you about those "blasting whole area"? Fox News? Oh yeah, these guys are very well known for their honest words. More, the blame of using of chemical weapon goes from the United States that's Government are also known as guys who always lies and never keeping their words. Examples? Sure. In 1991 US Government promised us that they will never join Eastern European countries to NATO. They did. US Government promised us to never spread their military objects into territory of ex-Soviet Union. They did. US Government promises us to never place anti-missile defense in the Europe. They did. US Government breaks International Law bombing independent countries in following of fake blames, like it was in 1999 with Serbia, for example. US directly falsifies the facts and invades into countries, committing genocide of people, like it was in Iraq. And i even not talking about those lying flow of sh!t that falls on our heads from US media.

Russians have very good proverb about it: lie once, and nobody would never believe you anymore. America lied for many times, and whole the World saw this lie. Honest word of the USA costs cheaper than paper where these honest words are written - this is the logic of Kremlin.

That's why i want to ask you to don't treat words of Lavrov directly. In language of diplomacy it mean "No, we don't trust you. Invade Syria and face very serious consequences. This time we won't let the USA to commit next one act of international cannibalism.".

Sorry about telling all of it as directly and in as rough and maybe even humiliating words. But we are here not in diplomatic uniforms, so i think we can to feel free to speak about everything as it is.

Of course, we all grew up hearing the same things told of the Soviet government: it was lying about everything to us... and especially to their citizens about the US.

I think it's safe to say all governments lie about a lot of things, both internationally and domestically.

And here's some debunking of a few or the more persistent Marathon bombing rumors and conspiracies, including the legs-missing guy picture: http://www.snopes.com/politics/conspiracy/boston.asp#vogt

Of course, true conspiracy-minded folks won't let that deter them, and choose not to believe sites like Snopes, calling it a tool for the shady powers-that-be...

But, I also know that most of the "fake bombing" theory folks also haven't walked around Copley Square and seen the damage, or happen to know folks who were standing a block removed from ground-zero when it all went down and saw it live and in person with their own eyes. I have, and I do.

@law_snoll what part of "International team of UN inspectors" do you not understand and keep assuming are full of lying americans?

The American government to outsiders would seem rather schizophrenic. But don't think diplomatically the US lies all the time. Yes, GWB took the worlds goodwill after 9/11 and used it so he could invade two countries and plunge them into civil war based on faulty intelligence. Which did a great job to ruin US reputation internationally.

It is arrogance to think it is still the same with a new president on his 2nd term in office.

"Do you have your application in?"

"Have that done tonight, on monday or tuesday, come back in and we'll talk about what you will be working here for."
