K_Kinnison
Had my old 96 Buick towed for salvage. Had it since 2001. Brakes were failing, muffler dropped, burning oil, hood release wouldn't work. Oh woe is me. Now all i got is a little 125cc motorcycle that is as old as I am. and having to borrow my wife's 2005 Saturn wagon.
edlib
all my contacts transfered over. BEFORE you walked out of the store? Without doing anything but typing the email address for the Apple Store? I've used the Droids... some of them are nice, but I don't want one. This battery seems pretty good so far, anyway. Besides: EVERYTHING where I work is Apple-based. Interfacing is just that much easier.
Rogue15
eh battery last me 2 days and that's with constant facebook monitoring, spotify playing tunes about 2-3 hours a day...text messaging. yep contacts transfered over before i left the store, as did my picture gallery. K_Kinnison
I had my Samsung Galaxy 4 since it was released. Over two years ago. The battery is starting to have issues. it actually loses its charge faster when in airplane mode. Someday i might actaully sit down and start removing some thinks from it that i hardly use. Like being able to remotely operate my computer with my phone, and vis versa. Or some games i haven't played in a while. Still rather bummed about losing my car. had a really bad argument with my wife where she thinks I just want to demand to use her car. the facts are my work is a 20 minute drive and her's is just under 2 miles away along Hwy 35 (Great river road). She thinks i should ride my motorcycle regardless of the weather. I have a perfect credit score... if my credit score was my golf score. that is the problem when you go through life without a credit card, loan, and have a few unpaid bills. Might have to quit my job for something closer. Which means working at some big box retail store like Shopko, Kmart, or *shudder* Wal-mart **** america. Not the land of opportunity anymore. Just Corporate greed sucking the life out of everyone who isn't rich
Rogue15
my credit score is a 500. fortune 500 baby!!! k_k, ever consider security? less bs to deal with...i'm loving my job. big box will just **** you over with that "peak time" nonsense. they say oh we'll hire you on part time and you'll get full time hours but that's only when they want to **** you on the holidays then cut your hours right after the holidays are over. not worth it, don't do retail... indeedjobs.com is a pretty good site for jobs, i've had 2 interviews off of it and both places wanted to hire me, and the 2nd place i currently work at. try http://www.cecintl.com 2 mile walk/bike ride for me...but i need a car as well bro, 7.5 mile drive to school this coming fall... very lucky i got the job i have now as full time...saving for a car is gonna be much easier. just hope i don't get a piece of crap cause i dont want to spend more than $3000... edlib
eh battery last me 2 daysI have a charger at home, at my desk at work, and at my girlfriend's place. I'll probably get a car charger for it soon. If I'm not actually on the road, it's usually plugged in somewhere anyway. I rarely ever go more than a couple of hours without recharging. The biggest draw on battery life on my old one was turn-by-turn GPS navigation. I haven't tried that on this one yet. That would be what the car charger would be for... if it turns out I need it. Is it me, or have all the old "Ford vs. Chevy" "PC vs. Mac" "xBox vs. Playstation" arguments now migrated over to "which smartphone do you use?" I didn't give it a whole lot of thought... I had an iPhone for over 5 years which I liked, always worked great, and had a number of apps that I bought for it and didn't want to have to purchase all over again, so I got a new one, and had it all set up the same afternoon. I didn't expect a Spanish Inquisition, as the Pythons were apt to say...
Rogue15
mine's only on the charger once a day bro. iPhone is easier to use though...the headphone jack is in a good place, not as many autotext fails, easier to one-hand type...but that's going off the iPhone 5. at least it's working for you. my #1 gripe about mine and why i will never buy another one is the battery life really sucks. Zoom Rabbit
My primitive clamshell phone gets recharged about once or twice a week...but a lot of the tasks you guys are doing on your smartphones I'm doing with my iPad (which is essentially a big iPhone,) which I plug in at the end of the day. I'll use the dumbphone until it breaks. My pay-as-you-go plan costs $10 a month.
Alexrd
I would never pay for an Apple product. Overpriced products and part of a very closed ecosystem.
Keyan Farlander
I also have the Galaxy 4 whatever phone-a-majigger. It calls people when I need it to. Which is about once a month. I miss my flip phone, but I needed to be able to access the Internet while on a business trip, so I had to give it up and get this. I do like the ability to use the map and GPS while walking around an unfamiliar city, though.
K_Kinnison
I GOT A CAR! Has a touchscreen Audio display that allows me to connect my phone up via bluetooth, and i can do hands free calls, and even use the Car's speakers for Audio. Lots of bells and whistles, and this is just the LE version on the XLE. only problem is the 12v outlets don't work and i noticed a small crack in the windshield when I drove off the dealer lot. guess where i am going monday? Just took it up to a nearby Vineyard, and we had a personal tour done by one of the owners, who I curl with. He even allowed us unlimited tastings for free. Yes, the owner of a successful Vineyard is one of my friends, and that makes me swell with pride.

Keyan Farlander
Yes, the owner of a successful Vineyard is one of my friends, and that makes me swell with pride. And wine, apparently! I need a friend who owns a vineyard. And another one who owns a distillery. Then I'd be set

Keyan Farlander
I played the organ before the Archbishop of Baltimore today. That was a bit nerve-wracking. Luckily I didn't make a mess of it, as I sometimes do under pressure!

K_Kinnison
They have vineyards in Wisconsin? Well, paint me blue and call me macaroni. Yes, dozens. Even wineries with Estate wines. http://www.wollersheim.com/ is probably the most successful, which just won "Small Winery of the Year at the Riverside International Wine Competition, 2015." A lot of the grapes used have been adapted to colder weather. Mainly because of the efforts of the University of Minnesota.

Zoom Rabbit
Perhaps the quest for self aware AI has been unsuccessful because all computers use electrical means to process information, but organic brains are both electrical and chemical in nature... edlib
Organic chemical based computers are such a bad idea... Do we really want the device that does our Google searches capable of getting depressed? What would those results start to look like? Or would an organic computer that lived in a house of stoners get a contact high, and start to develop a habit of it's own? And just think about all the circuits out there being used to look at porn... There's no way that could possibly end well. Allergy season has finally arrived to kick my ass. Miserable.
