Dan12R
I went with Kyle even though I'd say it's Max from Sam and Max. If we can consider that and action game.
CaptainRAVE
There should be multi selection boxes as I have a few favourites.....Gordon Freeman, Max Payne and Kyle Katarn
xwing guy
This is a hard one, I can't decide between John Mullins, Max Payne, or Kyle Katarn. Oh well John Mullins has my vote.
Neonix
how was this guy from day of the tentacle called. no Kyle Katarn makes it big time, psss i mean Duke Nukem next to the power of the Force, im mean come one. Duke go pack your bags
Guest toms
duke definately had more personality... mind you he stole all his best lines from my favorite movies... so i guess that is why i liked him personally i liked Garrett form theif oh, and Groove Champion and Taurus from Interstate 76 the guy in Tachyon the fringe was cool too... but then he was voiced by Bruce Campbell... how does mullins even get a mention in this list????? His name's John, but everyone calls him 'Jarn'. It's all "don't go in there, Jarn", and "watch your back, Jarn". Jarn is a vietnam vet, a firearms expert, an experienced mercenary, and easilly the most laughable ***** ever to have stepped foot inside a computer game since the eponymous star of the excrecable Leisure Suit Larry games reared his wormy little head before a disinterested world. Yes, Jarn 'Soldier of Fortune' Mullins is an absolute dingleberry. A **** of the highest order. He looks just like celebrity chef (and sunday morning godslot presenter) Kevin Woodford, so it's hard to take him seriously (and even harder to resist the urge to somehow twist the un round and watch him blow his own head off). He's also totally lacking a sense of humour. This man takes himself more seriously than Goebbels..... pc zone uk. review [Edit - Stormy - swearing isn't really appreciated here due to the number of minors who visit the boards. ]
StormHammer
I had to vote for Kyle, because there has been a real sense of character development for him that is missing in many other games. For me...it's not just about how tough...or how cool...it's about flaws, inner conflicts and being human.
Sounds Risky
Bah, The Master Chief 0wnz j00! Hehe.
Darth Simpson
JC Denton, no doubt. Although Kyle takes a close second place.
chenster22
Max Payne baby! Although the game is kinda repetitive now and I don't go back to playing it, it was still a fun and overwhelming experience. He had it all, and lost it all. He can do Chow Yun Fat impersonations and dodge bullets and shoot up baddies at the same time! He has my vote. A close second would probably be Gordon Freeman. Darth Bjorn
Sorry. I know t's all about Katarn, here. But J.C. Denton is the man! Deus Ex is my ATF, to date.

StormHammer
The guy from the Wolfenstein series is B.J. Blazkowicz. If you want him added to the poll, just let me know. AFAIK, the protagonist in Doom doesn't have a name...he/she is just the Space Marine.

Lord_FinnSon
I voted for Kyle, but it's too bad this poll only limits the vote to consist ACTION game heros. You see, I would have wanted to vote for Gabriel Knight too...
Kylilin
I bet Solid Snake would give them all a run for their money...
Guest Krayt Tion
The Doom Space Marine, aka Our Hero from the "credits" of DooM II. I voted for Duke. Not that I morally support the guy or anything, but definitely he screams action hero in a very AHnold and Stallone kind of way. But I guess that makes Duke only my favorite Cheesy 80's action hero of computer games.
txa1265
Kyle - for me - has the most developed character, and I feel the most empathy for him as a character (especially given these are FPS), however it is hard to ignore BJ Blaskowicz and Duke Nukem ... I have lots of history with them as well. Mullins I just play, don't really care about him, same with the Doom guy, and many others ... and whoever I just was in MoH ... liked the game, didn't care about the characters. I did like Ensign Monroe from Elite Force, but he wasn't really developed, either.
Darth Bjorn
Ok, Blaskowicz was cool. But can we really have a hero named "BJ"?
Chanke4252
Toms posted this quote..... and John Nada. "I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of bubblegum." I believe that actually came from "Dazed and Confused" where that guy said "I came here to do two things, drink some beer and kick some ass, and we're almost out of beer"
Guest toms
nope. john nada (played by roddy piper) in the all time classic They Live! by john carpenter. i think duke nicked several of his other lines from that film too....
