Geforce 3 Ti 200 default Core heatsink riped off replaced with a CoolJag low profile copper heatsink (a heatsink designed to cool down hot running athlons, its a low profile heatsink so i give up one pci slot next to the vcard but... so what) core max speed with crapy default heatsink all i could get it to was 220mhz from the default 175mhz, Dont by a Xtasy brand geforce3 ti if u plan to do any overclocking without riping off its heatsink... with this Cool jag i got the core to 293mhz and mem @ 506mhz must mention i have 2 120mm fans above all my cards both spin @ 2600rpm and move 86cfm of air each heh so the mem of the vcard is being cooled quite a bit (as is all my other pci slots prob 60% of the case too :D), also these fans are quite quiet basicly my Geforce3 ti 200 is faster then the Ti500 model non oced ti500 is 240/500 and is def faster then a stock Geforce 3, witch is 200/460mem, not bad for a card i only put 170$ in heh

Also why put Voodoo TNT V2 or any of those older cards?? a Stock TNT2 has a hell of a time jus runing quake 3 and quake 3 is old also Real gamers dont even consider Geforce 2 mx cards there almost as bad as the TNT2's performance wise... id rather have a Geforce 256 ddr over a gf2mx 400 anyday, and ATI cards are somthing to consider... tho all ATI cards sux really cept the 8500 model and thats hampred by very bad drivers and compatiblity... The geforce 4 mx 440 (dont get the 420 it uses normal Sdram) models are nothing but Geforce 2 Pro's in disguse, and the Geforce 4 TI models are to expensive to consider right now.... all in all if ure looking for a card for JK II and have atleast a 1ghz proc id go with the Geforce 3 Ti 200 if ure not into overclocking, id still go with it Vcards are jus getting to powerful......

heh id hope so, the vantra if ure talkin about the first version of it, was nothing but a reduced performance TNT1.... ugh trying to play a modern 3d game on somthin like that..... its alright on low poly Low res texture games of yore but now nothing short of a Geforce 1 DDR is acceptable.

No I actually forgot to put it on. I think the Radeon 8500 is a good card. I was trying to get all the major cards in and in doing so forgot one of the major cards.

Why don't you go for the Radeon 8500 (64 meg version)? It's faster than a GF 3 Ti 500 in almost all tests not thanx to the new drivers that are out for it. The Radeon 8500 is only $138 and the GF 3 Ti 200 is $120. For a few extra $'s you get quite a bit more performance!! I'm really not biased (these days) against or for Nvidia or Ati. They way everyone is talking the upcoming Ati R300 looks to be a G4 killer in a big way and there is a rumor that it may have a version with 256 megs of ram!! Of course this would be too expensive....look at the reviews of the 8500 though!!

I currently have a Dell Inspiron 8100 - with 1.2GHz PIII and a GeForce2GO 32MB (basically an MX). I'm soon getting an Inspiron 8200 1.7GHz P4 with a GeForce4GO 440 (Ti based) 64MB. The existing one plays RtCW and MoH:AA very well ... so it will be sufficient for JK2 until I get the new one ;)
