Nitro Posted June 13, 2002 Posted June 13, 2002 With the return of GUNNER, I shall also make my first post in a few weeks... It's exam season, and my free time has been severly cut back to to finals and term papers and such... Managed to con my English teacher into letting me do my thesis on Kubrick, and how his movies are almost always alligorical in some way. Know how I related it to my class? Kubrick was originally going to do One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but later decided not to. One Flew Over... is the novel we studied. Everyone else was wasting time trying to learn about schizophrenia and electroshock therapy, while I just sat back and watched A Clockwork Orange and 2001 a few times. w00t w00t for me.
Nitro Posted June 13, 2002 Posted June 13, 2002 lol Thanks, Crack. For the record, Even though Kubrick didn't actually do it, the One Flew Over... movie almost feels like his other stuff. But nothing will top Full Metal Jacket as my fave of his works. Even as just a war movie, it's incredible. Then consider that not one camera left England during the entire shooting of the movie. Finally, look for the story he was really trying to tell...
Admiral Odin Posted June 14, 2002 Posted June 14, 2002 I know how you feel Nitro. I just finished my term paper this week, that and I have been taking finals as well.
Rogue Nine Posted June 14, 2002 Posted June 14, 2002 Full Metal Jacket is the best war movie I have ever seen.
Commander 598 Posted June 14, 2002 Posted June 14, 2002 Correction: It is THE best movie you have ever seen.
Zargon Posted June 14, 2002 Posted June 14, 2002 psssssshh...whatever.... Speaking of War Movies, I watched blackhawk down on DVD last night, bought it yestrday after work, not too shabby at all.
