"thA dekMan" Posted August 14, 2002 Posted August 14, 2002 oh lol my bad... i don't tend to watch the sci-fi channel very often let alone catch it when dune is on.
Sisko82 Posted August 14, 2002 Posted August 14, 2002 Wow! Excellent work! I can't wait until this one is finished! Keep up the good work!
Edward Peretti Posted August 19, 2002 Author Posted August 19, 2002 I started more work on the texture. The texture is now one big map and the mesh is a whole, so no underbody I'm afraid. Also the long hair is gone :\ (and that's all final) I've made my job work priority, which means taking it home, so I want to finish Mara as quickly as possible by simplifying everything. Next update image will be a final finished render, before I go through the gruling task of getting her ingame. later Edd
idontlikegeorge Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 cool, well good luck on it. im no longer interested.
Luuke Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 cool, i hope you get it done. still one of my most wanted models!
Tzar Sectus Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 Thanks for the update, it'll rock when it comes out. Although, honestly, I'm disappointed you had to cut down on things, it would have been really cool to have gotten everything. -Remi
<JOTD>Jedi Hunter Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 Well, I wouldn't complain. He's doing this in his spare time just so the legion of SW JO fans will be able to use it. I'm just grateful that he began work on it. It will be quite fun to play with Mara in game. I look forward to more updates. Keep up the great work.
remark 666 Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 this will be my most favorite female model, she'll rock big time!
idontlikegeorge Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 oh yeah, dont take me wrong, its just now with no long hair and extra surfaces, its just a good-looking curvier jan. im sick of jan. i mean a tavion/jan model tweek with just some hair not pulled back would be a nice change.
Edward Peretti Posted August 20, 2002 Author Posted August 20, 2002 I see what you mean. Other than the hands and inner mouth, the mesh is entirely made from scratch. The hair out I modeled before looked boring. There wasn't much definition or shape to it, so I ditched it. The hair would seperate it more from the others, you're right about that. I'll see if theres a way of converting the ponytail version. I am sure that her hair is out on the cover of the mots game. But it's very suttle.
BradFu Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 I agree that having multiple hairstyles would really make this model great It shouldn't take a huge amount of extra time, and remember that surfaces that are turned off do not count toward the in-game polycount
Gram_Reaper Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 thats would be awesome to have like three different hair styles. Add some uniqueness. Hey BradFu what happened to the thread on your bothan jedi master
Edward Peretti Posted August 27, 2002 Author Posted August 27, 2002 Added an image of the final model and partialy textured clothing http://eperetti.tripod.com/workinprogress.html thought I'd post somthing new :\
<JOTD>Jedi Hunter Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 Very good. I dont's notice anything wrong with it. It really looks great. I (and every other mara fan) appreciate all of your hard work. Thanks.
morphius_doh Posted September 4, 2002 Posted September 4, 2002 Looking good so far. I am looking forward to seeing any future updates!
Edward Peretti Posted September 8, 2002 Author Posted September 8, 2002 afraid not. I'm planning to use it for other things. I'm modeling a pulled back hair female character at work which drove me to change her hair back to this... http://eperetti.tripod.com/workinprogress.html I haven't made much of a fuss with the long hair, so it looks simple but fairly effective. Edd
mariners2001 Posted September 8, 2002 Posted September 8, 2002 Looking very nice Ed...I'm so glad you decided to give her long hair as there are none out so far. When do you think it'll be ready for release? By the way, if you'd like some skinning help - contact me here
