Final Fantasy Tactics.

and Final Fantasy for NES, didn't know if that was #1

or if number one was like for super nintendo or somthin, but tactics is still best.

Tactics was good, but the poll is just for the main Final Fantasy series, because the most options I could put is 10.

Tactics was the shiznit, though.

*ahem*

The new FFX,which is FFX-2, doesnt show Yunda saving Tidus's candy ass, since,of course, she was too stuck-up to save Tidus before he died in FFX along with Auron:D

For those of us who have not played FF10 but would like to with some surpises please stopping telling me about who saves who and WHO DIES! I do not want to hear it.

TACTICS SUCKED! I hated that game. It was boring. The graphics were not that great. The baddies except the last guy were too easy. It was a horrible horrible game.

FF7 was the best especially for when it was made. I base all RPGs now from that game. The only thing I hated was the Ice Level where you faint occasionally. I cannot tell you how many times I got within steps of getting Alexander and fainted.

FF8 had too many monsters. It got really annoying. One of the first things I would do was get the demon guys (been a long time) ability to null all fights thing and just walk through the whole game. Although it was fun to get all the weapons and cards and beat all the annoying chocobo games. I loved the gun blade but the bad guy was not evil enough for me. I hated the draw system also. I got to level 100 to easy with all my GFs and guys.

FF9 was a better improvement. I liked abilities. I appreciated all the characters. The graphics were great although I hated losing to Beatrix so many times. Some of the secrets were REALLY hard to get. This was the first time I had to look on the internet to get some help in locating all the treasure chests.

I never played FF1-6 or 10 so I cannot compare them although the game where you play rugby? underwater sure seemed cool. The beast guy also intrigued me. It was funny to see all the Asian people with blond hair. The game looks great and I hope to play it soon.

Really?

Well..which was Anthology again?

Ah, the subject becomes clouded. Here's the rundown.

I (NES) - You were correct, Tyrion. You got to pick your party.

II & III were also on the NES

IV - Known as Final Fantasy II (2) here in the US. Was the first FF on the SNES

V - Was also on SNES (called the Super Famicon in Japan). Never made it to the States until Anthology came out for the Playstation. I had a translated version of this game on my comp though (god bless those emulators... LOL)

VI - Known as Final Fantasy III (3) here in the US. Also on SNES, but was later re-released along with FFV in Anthology (for PS)

VII - Ah, the Playstation masterpiece. They finally decided to stop messing with American heads and just name this one what it really was in the series.

VII-X were correctly named after that, and shouldn't have been confused...

Tactics.

Graphics were great for me....they? easy?I was stuck at a long time at Wiegraf. And,the Elmdor battle afterwards. Boring? I am assuming you never tried mixing and matching job abilities?

As for FF7,hafta agree with you there;)

My first time thru I got stuck at all the usual places, too. Wiegraf, Elmdor, even Meliadoul (sp? Vorav's daughter) gave me trouble. I agree with you about the mixing/matching job abilities... really added length to the game, and replay value. Of course, I have my game where everyone has every job mastered :p, but for the most part you could play thru Tactics multiple times and never have the same party.

Did anyone else play Vagrant Story? That's still my favorite Square game...

I never got stuck once. I knew where to go and how to beat people. I only got stuck if you will at this one place where I tried beating the people and it took me about 5 tries because they were sectioned off? if I remember correctly. I believe half my people were on one side of a castle wall and the others were other ther other side and it was a pain to release the draw bridge.

The main reason I disliked the game so much was that I spent a few days raising about normal peasant dudes to have really high stats. Then come to find out I never use any of them again because of all the people I gained in my party. I even got Cloud the first time through because of dumb luck. Didn't quite get the point of all the tasks to do where you send like 3 people and when they come back they find treasure and get exp. I mastered a few of the ranks but not every person had every rank mastered. The one I always skipped was the geomancer? The guy who used th elements to hurt people. His attacks were weak and pointless. ALSO the part that irritated the crap out of me was that I didn't know to max the peasant skill where you gain extra ability learning stuff by 2 fold or half. It is probably just me but I absolutely hated the game. Luckily I only borrowed it for a couple of weeks and never bought it. Maybe since I can buy it so cheaply I might pick it up and try again but I still hated that game.

If you havent played the SNES FF games, then GO AHEAD and download them as roms from Internet! Free! Those playstation costs lots of money, so i have never played the ones from VII ad upwards. But the SNES ones i have played is great. I voted for FF5, but number 6/3 is very good too.
