I am going to have to say VHS. The quality is way much better and the picture and sound is just breathtaking. DVD is overrated and to costy.

I'm getting the DVD in 48 hours from now.

VHS have grainy pictures, bad sound quality, flickery screens and no sides to the picture. DVDs have perfect picture and sound, full screen and more extra features than you can shake a lightsaber at. DVDs rule, if you don't own a DVD player then, quite frankly, you should buy one now so you can watch AOTC when it comes out.

Is there more than one version of the VHS available? I've only seen one listed. In any case, the VHS does have 6 of the 8 deleted scenes on it, as well as a featurette starring R2 and C3PO (if you've seen the tv versions of the original trilogy, sometimes they're hosted by the droids, I imagine the featurette is sort of like this).

Hmm, didn't see a difference at starwars.com, but I might have missed something. I'd guess that the non-special edition doesn't have the cutscenes and introduction. There may be a full-screen/wide-screen difference too, but I'm not sure.
