Nah man.....it's not $80. Now, having said that, there is also going to be a 5 disc set released which has added to it the National Geographic story about the LOTR......now that sounds like what you might have seen.

But the new 4 disc movie set is only $30. Hope this helps you Rogue!! ;):D

At the store by my house where I'm getting the LOTR 4 Disc set on Tuesday they're selling the 5-Disc LOTR set (with the bookends and all that) for $40 and the 4-Disc set for $25...

And the Toys-R-Us by me has a special deal on AOTC on Tuesday... the DVD is only $10!

Yeah, I just picked it up today.......and I've only seen part of the new specail features. :D There's so much to go through, I haven't even began to sort though it all O_O.

A worthwhile pick up! And you even get a ticked to see the Two Towers included!! :D

Between AOTC and the special edition of LOTR I've been overwhelmed with special features. I was a little disappointed in the selection of scenes that were put back into AOTC... wanted some action scenes, personally. But I already knew what the scenes were going to be... just kept hoping there'd be secret ones or something, lol.

Anyway, I think the special edition of LOTR is really cool. The movie is a little closer to the book now, and I like how they've extended and rearranged scenes rather than just splicing the cut scenes into the original movie. It's like a whole new edit of the picture.

I really liked the extended Council of Elrond scene where Gandalf gets up and starts using the black language of Mordor... really scared the crap out of everyone in the council, and even I was like, "Whoah, what's going on?"

Still have many, many hours of movie to go thru though.
