ET Warrior
I voted for the Xbox, and i do have both systems....well, i had both. I gave my cube to my sister because it simply does not have the type of games i want. RPG's? Nope. Good FPS? Nah, does it have hitman 2? Nope. Gamecube is a good party game console, but that's it. And people are STILL complaining about the Xbox's controller, but luke Leemu Taos said. THERE IS A CONTROLLER S. It's the same size as the ps2's. There's also Resident Evil. there's a lot more to the GC than party games. nothing against the X-Box, i can just have 2 consoles at the time on my TV and don't have enough money to update it. I got the PS2 as a gift (which does have lots of good games) and bought the gamecube simply because of the games.

But i played metroid and really did not enjoy it. Resident evil isn't really a shooter either. It's not really my type of game though, i'm not a big fan of the resident evils. Theres not a lot mroe to GC than party games....just some. NOW they are starting to pick up neat games. Bounty hunter to name one. but for the first year they got shafted with good games and the GC had not enjoyable games.
DiRtY $oUtH™
Well, the race is pretty close I would say...but I'm confident that the GC will prevail...

With consoles, timing is everything, so the fact that the PoS2 is about 18 months older than both of these systems, gives it the larger software and install base to have. It had no real competition when it launched, and can heavily advertise the cheaper priced games that the average person will buy, not realising if they want the new games, they aren't that much cheaper than that of an XBOX........... And contrary to all those PoS2 lovers, the XBOX has beaten the PS2 to all the major milestones since launch. So without a solid lead in console such as the PoSX, which the PoS2 had, it has sold better!!! As for the PoS2, why sell basically a modem, but no services with it, whereas the XBOX Live is the complete package? I am definitely pro-XBOX, the PoS2 has never interested me. That was exactly what I was going to say. X-Box live is a complete package. It gives you everything for a lower price including a special x-box headset so everyone can talk in game. X-Box owns imo but I guess it depends on which kinds of games you like. X-Box specializes in first person shooters and extreme sport games. Ever since Microsoft bought Rare Gamecube has gone downhill. Rare was one of their best companies that made games such as the classic Goldeneye and Perfect Dark for the N64. Gamecube is more of a kid-friendly system imo and it doesnt have the depth in their games that I am looking for. X-Box has the depth and the power to make great games. WOW i wish it was like that when i was a kid I see your point. But you have named 2 games. I can name dozens of games that have alot of depth and maturity on X-Box. DOn't get me wrong. Gamecube does have some great games that are kid-friendly. I'm not saying all kid-friendly games are bad. I'm just saying that it X-Box has more games that suit my style. Maybe you are a huge fan of Resident Evil games. I am not. Like someone said earlier, we are all going to have different opinions. My opinion is X-Box games have more depth to them then Gamecubes. This is not fact, it is my opininion. I am sure other people think differently.

X-Box also has a s-type controller for smaller hands and for some people, a more comfortable feel. Again, your choice is based entirely on your opinion but if you are going to choose one over the other, give some reasons.
Mandalorian54
X-box rules and there new online deal is awsome you get to talk to people while playing. first person shooters are my favorite games and gamecube and playstation don't have much in that department let alone ones that are any good. buy halo is the best even better than melee. game cube is for kids. ps2 is for adults, and rpg nerds x-box is for all!!!! all are good systems. but if you dont like x-box cause of A: controller to big B: bill gates is a nerd C: microsoft makes too much money if any of these are any of your reasons somthin is wrong. It's all about the games!!! and if you say microsoft just wants to make more money with the x-box i'dd say your ignorant. the online play is only 75$ a year! compare that with ps2 no way. but theres nothin gay about ps2 and thats a pretty lame insult sounds like somthin a 6 year old would say. and remember my 2cent's is free! Tyrion
Game cube is NOT for kids, I dont think five year olds would have happy dreams after playing Eternal Darkness... PS2...the only reason I am even considering getting one is for KH and the FF's. X-Box is looking better and better though.
jokemaster
Here's my 2 centes: GC: I like the games, and say what you want IT IS NOT A KID CONSOLE. there are lots of games exclusively for GC that aren't exactly what parents like to let kids play. Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness, Die Hard, and Metroid Prime isn't exactly kiddie material. Besides, i had the GBA so... PS2: Bought it for FF and KH XBOX: good console, but can't have more than 2 consoles at home because although I have a good TV (progressive scan and all that) only 3 of the hookups work: I use 1 for GC, 1 for PS2 and one for my VCR (which im not letting go of until they realese star wars and indiana jones for DVD)

lightspeed
What are some examples of good games for X-Box apart from Halo? Oh, and you can talk while you play with PS2. PS2 has some good shooters eg. SOCOM. gamecube is definately NOT just for kids. Have I made my point yet?
