Reborn Outcast
I just saw "Blazing Saddles" for the first time ever... I thought it was pretty funny but it had the most racial slurs I have ever heard in a movie... maybe its just me... Does anyone know if this movie got beaten on with sticks by critics when it came out or was there public outrage because of it? It was kinda like the puns against white people in "Undercover Brother" except it was dirested towards blacks... Anyone else seen this movie and waht was your opinion? Ratmjedi
I have seen that movie and it is funny. There are a lot of movies where they make fun of whites. This is also Mel Brooks. He makes movies like this but it is ok. I think that it was a good movie for its time.
acdcfanbill
Blazing Saddles is awesome, its only poking fun at the racial tendencies of those times... also, for a real racial movie, watch American History X... That is one great movie!
leXX
I didn't think is was racist, in fact I think it was laughing at racism. You have to take Mel Brooks with a dose of salts, it's a great film, very funny imo. American History X was an excellent film. I think all racists should be made to sit down and watch it to realise how narrow minded they are.

I think you misunderstood me. I was trying to say that the puns were like those which were in "Undercover Brother"... I wasn't trying to say that its ok to say that to whites... or anyone. Now that I think about... it does kinda seem like the movie is makin fun of racial people. Thanks for clearin that up for me people.
