Well Yoda was meditating -> connecting with the Force -> connecting with dead Jedi. He heard the thoughts of Qui-Gon.

Anakin may heard them ,but he ignored them becasue of the Dark side influence in him during that scene....

I viewed that scene as only Anakin hearing the voice, but ignoring it.

As Yoda says something like "I sense a great disturbance in the force, know not what it is."

Had he heard Qui-Gon's voice, he would have known it was about Anakin.

Sorry to tell you, but that quote isn't even close. I have it at the top of my head (I think)

Mace: What is it?

Yoda: Pain... suffering... death I feel....something terrible has happened... Young Skywalker is in pain... terrible pain......

Then cuts to Obi on Geonoisis

my point is this: you don't hear qui gon's voice until they show yoda meditating on coruscant and that tells you he was the one to hear qui gon not anakin if anakin heard him then you'd think that they would have shown a scene with anakin with qui gons voice

I think that this makes the most sense. :)

Okay, so Its been a long time since I saw the movie.

But my point still stands. Yoda felt pain and suffering, and that Anakin was in pain... but he didn't mention about Qui Gon's voice.

Had Yoda heard the voice, then he would have known exactly what Anakin was doing.

Anyway, that's just my view

not nessarilly or however it's spelled lol. that doesn't prove nothing

even yoda who was the second most powerfull jedi ever didn't know everything that was going on remember that the dark side was clouding the jedi councils abilities with the force and if anakin heard qui gon then it would have shown anakin with the voice of anakins first mentor and not yoda with the voice think about it man.

it all makes sense

The novelization says that Yoda heard it because it kind of was like an explosion of pain and anger.

It also says that Anakin didn't hear it because he was to angry and set on revenge.

yoda hears the voice because he's in meditation and very powerful anyway...Anakin "unlocks" the voice, but is 'deafened' and 'blinded' by the dark rage he experiences.

With QGJ being the one that originally wanted to train Anakin, it is to him that Anakin listens to the most. He helped Ani escape from the life of a slave, and to be trained as a Jedi.

I see that both Yoda, and Anakin heard it. Whilst Yoda was meditating, looking for and trying to sense the flows within the force, anything that happens will be esily picked up by him. As to Ani, he has his mind full of rage, wanting to get back at the Tuskens for killing his mother.

The best term I'd call it is "Selective Hearing" from Ani - he chose to ignore any counsel to settle down, and do it the "Jedi" way..

...maybe I was hallucinating but I thought I heard that only Yoda heard it...and was surprised because Jedi don't stick around after they were dead (he must have not seen ANH-RotJ ;))

...on the Star Wars website? No?

Exactly what I´ve read.

From Star Wars.com

While meditating, Yoda had felt a traumatic event befall young Anakin Skywalker. At that very moment, he also heard the voice of Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi Master slain a decade previous. It was impossible for a Jedi to retain his identity after becoming one with the Force, yet he had heard it.

Well they are not animals , anakin said it because of his rage he exaggerated. They are sentient beings. (just tell a wookie he is an animal and watch how your arms being teared appart from your body)

In the book Rogue Planet it says that Qui-GOn sometimes spoke with Anakin...

If this is the first time a Jedi talks to someone after he dies then why doesn't Yoda say anything about it. Ppl say its suppose to be a very important part in the whole saga cuz no other jedi ever done that.

I would of like to have seen Yoda confused or said something to Mace

Mace "what is it?"

Yoda "A voice i hear. Do not know what the meaning of the voice is. It speaks to Anakin. Pain....Suffering...Young skywalker is in terrible pain"

its dumb but something like that.

The book explains all the little things that couldb't be explained in the film, Anakin did hear it but was to entrenched in the darkside of the force to notice
