leXX Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 OMG!!! Click here to have your mind read!! How in the hell does that thing work??
Bob Gnarly Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 HOLY CRAP THAT DOES WORK!?! how the hell does it do that! i used to know a game like add 2 take away 4 and such and you get a number like 20
Kstar__2 Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 i figured out how it works, it's rather simple, but in the first it is amazing
Matt-Liell Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 I tried it and it worked! It worked when i acctually thought about it but then i just stared at the number and didnt do the math and it failed but wow that is strange!

Bob Gnarly Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 yeah we all want to know i used to know a while ago but i forgot useless things like that
Darklighter Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 That is quite incredible. Cmon Kstar, tell us:)
Wacky_Baccy Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 It's very clever... I'm quite impressed Look at the pattern of symbols in the grid (which changes), and then do a few test calculations for each 'pattern'... You should be able to see how and why it works
Kstar__2 Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 alright, i'll tell you all we start with this picture: now we will pic a number, lets say 99, 99 minus 9 minus 9= 81, and look, a cross. now we pic another number, lets say 34, 34 minus 3 minus 4=27, and look, a cross. now, you can do it with ANY number, but you will always end up with a number with a cross, or, with this picture, a number with a
Darklighter Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 Of course! That's why when you refresh to try it again, the pictures on the table all change, so you don't get the same outcome again (well, you do get the same, but they change it so you think you don't;)).
-s/<itzo- Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 for you slow minded fools, this is how it works. notice that everytime you play it, it gives different signs for each number. but the thing is what ever 2 digit number you use, you'll always get the numbers: 81 72 63 54 45 36 27 18 9 0 and all those numbers have the same signs. so no matter what 2 digits you use you'll end with any number from that list that i gave you and all have the same signs. get it.
Wacky_Baccy Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 Posted by Darky Of course! Yep. Simple really, isn't it? It almost had me fooled for a minute or two before I noticed the patterns... But not quite, I'm happy to say

Bob Gnarly Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 usually i would've figured it out but i was stuped
Clem Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 shame i read the thread first maybe lexx/ sum1 with moddy powers can edit it to say and i quote "PLAY FIRST .... READ LATER" or summat suchlike
Wacky_Baccy Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 Posted by kstar that long:eek: i already figured it out the second time i tried it:p Only cos I was thinking of, and trying out, various ways to reveal the way it worked :p I need to learn to look at the bigger picture before I pay too much attention to details... I admit that much
-s/<itzo- Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 it had me going in the begining but i notice the sign changes everytime you try again. so i just looked for the numbers that was consistent with the signs and figured it out.
leXX Posted December 20, 2002 Author Posted December 20, 2002 I honestly didn't notice that the signs changed each time! Silly me.
Darklighter Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 You're not the only one leXX. I couldn't even begin to guess at how they did it. I was about to say 'Yep, I guess they can read my mind...' Sometimes I just like the mystery of it, not knowing how it's done. I'm not stupid; I'm just impressed easily;)
Taos Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 I was very impressed the first time.......but then I did notice that the signs changed somewhat. Still pretty cool!
