Nitro Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 I also got the Mallrats DVD from a friend. It was the only one I didn't have of the entire Askewniverse series.
Nitro Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 The Askewniverse (ass-cue-knee-verse) series is the unoffical title of five seperate Kevin Smith movies that draw from the same character pool. Kinda like how Jack Ryan and Ding Chavez were both introduced in completly different Tom Clancy books, but were both in Sum of All Fears. There's no "official" set, but the five flicks make up the Askewniverse. What are these five flicks you might ask? (In order of release) Clerks Mallrats Chasing Amy Dogma Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back The timeline is slightly different, however. Timeline Mallrats (Day before Clerks) Clerks Chasing Amy (2-3 years after Clerks) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (About 5 years after Clerks) Dogma (6 months to a year after JASBSB) The first three are set in stone as to the timeline, but Dogma and JASBSB are mostly speculation, though Kevin Smith says that JASBSB is based on a comic someone did to explain how they ended up where they were at the start of Dogma.
Rogue Nine Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 I've only seen JASBSB and Dogma out of those. I saw them in sequence, though!

Not technically a gift, but since I didn't pay for it and since it arrived the day after Christmas I'm counting it... It's a lot smaller and noticably faster than the old one. BONUS!

Flying Beastie Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 My haul was typically crappy. 2 sweaters. 2 T-shirts, one long-sleeved. SW AoTC video ('cause I have no DVD player). SW AoTC soundtrack. A new wallet (still haven't opened the one from last year). Assorted snacks. Gift certificates to a movie theatre I don't go to. Cologne that I won't wear. A day-by-day calendar that I won't use. A book that I already have. $120 from rich/senile relatives. A chance to play with my new 1 yr old baby cousin. A few days after the fact, I got Voyager: Elite Force (Expansion Pack) and Jedi Outcast, 'cause we had to visit the US to get them. Now I get to put the new video games in a box until April, because my dear mother thinks that I want to spend as much time at home as I possibly can, so by the time I got back here, school's about to start.
