BCanr2d2
Finally great to be back here after spending way too long being looked after at home after having a knee reconstruction. Have been dying to get back here and have some fun, playing the XBox and watching DVD's only takes up so much time of the day when you can't walk and have to use crutches.... BCanr2d2
Well, the plaster is off, don't have any real pain in it, and start physio on Friday. Other than that it's approx 6 months before I am given the go ahead to use my knee anyway I see fit. Lots of work to do on it yet, all I hope is that it doesn't annoy me when I go to watch LOTR: The Two Towers - it opens here today.... If I had some webspace I'd put up a nice pic of my knee! I'd also need to check if I have the pics taken during the operation, to show what shape my ACL was in, and the new one in place. Damn genetics, my other two sisters have torn their ACL's as well, so it is a fault that runs in our family anyway.....
Tyrion
Damn, that must seriously hurt. I sprained my ankle last year..could barely do anything.. Well...until I finally got a cast and could walk..
C'jais
For the record, I once broke both my arms, at the same time, at the exact same place. EDIT - I've never sprained anything, does it hurt more than breaking your bones?
BCanr2d2
Originally posted by Tyrion Damn, that must seriously hurt. At the time I did it, some immediate pain, then it went numb.. As for the op, that is what anasthaesia is for, and what painkillers are for afterwards!! I could walk on it before, just couldn't twist turn or really run on it. Never broken any bones - well I have, the bridge in my nose has about 4 sets of cracks in it from playing Aussie rules football. BTW the bridge of the nose is bone, the rest of it is cartilige. I only seem to know how to do soft tissue injuries, like dislocate shoulders and elbows, and sprain ankles, joints, muscles etc...

Just immense pain till you get up and sit somewhere.

Ratmjedi
Our other fellow Aussie is back. Sorry about the knee man. Hope it heals quicker so that you can start doing whatever you want. I have never really broken any bones so I wouldn't know how it feels. I bet it hurts like a bitch though. Just take it easy man and it you'll be back to normal in no time.
