Why...

Anakin lost his focus as his thoughts went astray, and Dooku made him pay dearly for it. It went something like this:

Inside Anakin's Head:

Man, this Dooku guy is pretty tough!

parry

parry

He's pretty quick for an old guy!

thrust

parry

I wonder if Padme is alright?

parry

swing

parry

Mmmm...Padme!

parry

parry

She was looking pretty good with that ripped jumpsui...

*Dooku Chops off arm*

Ouch! My arm got cut off, that sucks!

But Padme's arm is nice and soft, not like sand at all...

*Anakin's force pushed across room*

Dude! Stop! I can't concentrate on Padme when you're pushing me all around like that!

I don't think Hayden was a bad actor. He just had some cheesy lines, but so does everyone in a Star Wars movie.

Yes, the sparks were added late but you might have seen them at the cinema if you saw it in a digitally-equipped cinema.

And I don't think Jango knew his rocket pack didn't work. He tries to blast off when Mace gets too close. He used the exact same tactic when fighting Obi-Wan.

Mace was able to mostly dodge his flamethrower before, so maybe he thought that wasn't the best. Then again he probably wasn't thinking straight after being trampled by a reek.

He was about to help his master Obi-Wan a helping hand, when in a horrible twist of fate, Count Dooku suddenly got the upper hand, and lopped off the digits. You got to hand it to director George lucas who, had handed over the hand removal scene, in a nick of time to coincide with the whole hand/fate thingy that happens with Luke and Vader in Episode VI. On the other hand, it could have been a mistake.

*runs out of the room dodging flying tomatoes*

I would have thought Anikan would have been more interested in that leather outfit Padme wore when they had that seriously deep conversation. She really was busting out all over the place- strange I always thought George Lucas said there were no breasts in space- when did that chang?

GL actually designed that outfit himself!:D

Hayden did a brilliant acting job considering the lines he had to deliver. I think he portrayed the emotion perfectly. You can feel Vader welling up inside him when he gives that look with his eyes. Well done Hayden, I don't care what anyone else says.

Nice one Groovy. But I don't think she looked like Jane Goodall ;)

I would say that she looked more like a Geisha but thank God that GL made her look more like a women than a teenager with a lot of make up. She does look older and she looks more mature too.

I just don't see why Anakin couldn't just go pick up a prostitute? Surely he could have gotten a blowup doll made to look like Padme?

It would have saved him a lot of time :p

I just like picking on Anakin, talk about obsessive :D Although I do think he was poorly written, I remember the first time I saw it, I was sitting with my best friend and my boyfriend and his friends were in front of us, basically everytime Anakin opened his mouth we were rolling around on the floor laughing, especially the whole time he was on corosant.

"I don't think she liked me looking at her" (geeeez I wonder why?)

And then when ObiWan lectured him about being to hasty (can't think of his exact words) "yes master, I try master"

I don't know if his lines were supposed to be that pathetic, I just hope he's written better for episode3 coz he is kinda cute :)

Who's with me?

:D

Golden Globe nominated Hayden Christiansen?

Remember he was nominated for My Life as a House.

I think GL makes people look like bad actors. Cause Natalie Portman is a great actress but she looks horrible in the SW movies. If you look back so did Carrie Fisher. Lucas' dialogue is terrible.

I don't think he lost concentration. Could you imagine fighting losing concentration and just standing there doing nothing.

I think it was a small error in choreography.

Uh... Anakin laughed before he said that--he knew exactly why she didn't want him watching her ;)

I don't have any problem with the dialogue. No, it's not realistic, but it's also timeless; Star Wars movies do not date themselves, and the dialogue is part of the reason why.

That is the thing that attracks me the most. If you take a look at sci-fi films in general. There is always something that distracts or puts a date on films. Usually the biggest mistake you can make is to actually open up with the date of the setting on the opening scene. The other mistake sci-fi films make is by centuring the plot around situations that are fears in present day life, such as computer crime, robotics, nuclear war and more recently cloning. Star Wars is unique in that they do not base anything in our time frame, and the plot points are based on classic mythology. I used to think that the Alien films were good at not dating themselves, however after watching them recently I noticed alot of things involving computers and Christmas lights. Also for some reason they thought people would smoke in business meetings and on a spaceship. Star Trek claims to be in the 25th century, and I doubt we will be that advanced to create a United Federation of planets, when so many poeple still question the existance of extra terrestrial life. So in my opinion, Star Wars will remain timeless.
