Umm I could honestly say the same for every country in the world.

And everyone the cross was just an accident. Its not like the photographer stood there waiting for that to happen.

I'm thinking it's more likely lack of evidence. Barring seeing God towering in front of me wielding a flame sword and a radiant aura, saying "Here I am! Now Believe!!!", nothing we've seen yet can logically be connected to God. Using inane "arguments" such as "Look at the beauty of life. It's God's work" is not going to work - anyone, including my dead grandmother buried in my backyard could have created that - there's no logical connection.

What's the difference between the three following examples:

  • The Nihilanth is the All Father. All life must obey his every wish. Everything is within his grasp, and none can escape it, since he is all there is, and nothing exists without the spiritual bond to him. He shall descend unto the Earth when the Kmethechele have passed its seventh cycle, and he shall rule everything in his fleshy form. All that see him shall despair, for he is not meant to be looked upon.

  • Ever since the second Lion of Cthas'rath leapt over the remains of Great Bulbulu, the universe has been thrust into the third winter, and the Nailebe will inherit the earth. The great ones will come, and everything will perish until the next spring.

  • Jesus of Nazareth is the Lord and Saviour. By accepting him in your heart, you shall rule beside him in his heaven and hell. By following his Word, you shall become void of sin, and your soul shall be placed upon the pedestal of the Lord, to be looked upon and analyzed. If you do not succumb to the Lord Jesus, you will forever be torn apart by kittens with sharp claws and a wicked sense of Sadomasochism

You're right. There isn't any difference. There is no logical reason to believe in any of this hogwash I just made up. All of these screwed up distortions of reality have one thing in common: There is no sensible reason to believe in them, and all you can do is throw your logical sense out the window, putting your trust into something you have no chance of ever seeing evidence of, and start worshipping.

May I suggest a "from cradle to grave" welfare system? I don't know how comfortable you are with socialistic values, but it seems like you want to get away from the laissez-faire of the states.

Or maybe Burma, on second thought.

I think it's a nice picture. If it was an austrailian flag, I think it would be a nice picture. If it had the Mexico Flag on it, I would find it nice.

With polotics/religion aside, it's a nice picture. Stop trying to see so deep into it, and you won't get offended.

Thats a beautiful picture. Like Taters said, if you don't like the picture, we don't want to hear your crap about how you hate America, since this thread is honoring America.

When did I say I hate USA? Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't. Or perhaps you were talking to RougePhotonic? If you did, I would like to point out that it was pretty confusing since you were quoting my post. :)

since this thread is honoring America.

Is it? Strange I didn't notice. Thought it was just showing a picture.

Read my post.

Well, fer one thing, I started writing the post before you posted, meaning I had never seen that post of yours before I posted. Also, I doubt that all thinks the same as you.

Holy cow, this thread turned into a war.

The reason I posted this was a reminder to America, of what made America successful and blessed.

Unfortunatly, America turned it's back on God along time ago...and now it's going downhill. The picture was posted to make us all "remember" how America became such a great nation.

In God we trust, one nation, under God.

So,then, why the hell do we say George Washington or Alexander (His last name escapes me at the moment) helped find the country, if really God did it?

God seems like a dictator to me,anyways...which is against the very ideals of the United States.(And America, for that matter).

But this really doesnt belong here.

Hey, to all of you atheists..... you will be turned long before you will turn one christian.... atleast they have something to have faith in. You shouldnt bother us about our beliefs. I dont tell you that you have no right to be an atheist. I used to be an atheist at one time, but i was depressed and mean and filled with hate. Somebody who has faith in something, even if it is the all mighty shoe, will be stronger emotionally than someone without faith. I think that atheists live very easy lives not to want something to look for, and along with your anti christian thoughts comes hate for the united states  You dont even criticize all religion usually, and i dont think i did anything to you. Also this wasnt meant to be some religious symbol or anything, just how it looks. Get over it. If you dont have anything nice to say dont post on things like this. I cant believe to you people something so innocent becomes an insult. You are ignorant and closed minded.

Sorry if you dont like that, get over it. Ive been putting up with your stupid remarks for a long time and you will never understand, it isnt about evidence... its about a feeling that you get when you feel connected to god or your deity somehow. I hope that you find it.

Oh yes, and tyrion.... if god was a dictator hed strike you down and kill you for not believing.... he never did that. He gives you 80 years to be a good person, doesnt necesarily mean you have to believe.... but it helps.

So? He just kills me later than sooner..and sends me to a fate worse than death..

It's either follow him,or live in Hell.

Gee,that sure looks like dictatorship to me...

I'm an anthesist, and I'm not full of hate. Hell, I never want a war to happen(While some christians *coughcrusaderscough* started wars and had bloodshed in the name of God..). That and it's always nice to ponder my existance, knowing I was created for some purpose(that freaks me out, knowing I was created to do something..knowing that my free will isnt really free will...).

Just because a million people believe in something, doesnt mean it's right. Of course, that goes both ways, but I accept that.

And I dont mind the government,it isnt the best(it's damn good, though, but there's still some things I dont particulary agree about) but I am not gonna put bombs in my shoes and blow up plains(contrary to popular belief:D)).

And the picture was a religious symbol...do you really think Rp would've posted it if it didnt have the cross? He even heavily encouraged(and even posted,I think) that it was about God. So how excactly could it not be interpreted as a holy symbol?

(P.S. in fact, according to some people(most people, actually. obi for one) I could be the nicest and most polite person ever, but if I dont believe in god, down I go when I die...)

It's more of the Christian belief I dont like, not the Christians.
