Bob Gnarly Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 i enjoy an occasional salad healthy for me .....to bad im way to lazy to do anything
Darth Eggplant Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 I said chinese, which for me encompasses, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese etc. I love tempura and sushi and shashimi, I also like those Hibatchi steak house things with knives and food a flying. I also love noodle soaps, and miso soup. I really dig peanut suace, coriander and bakchoy. I like mexican sometimes, my fav cactus. (really it is great to eat.) and a good burger at a BBQ is fun, but not fast food junky burgers all the time. a sald is also part of a BBQ for me. or seaweed salad with my Bento box. sub sandwiches are cool too however I like Gyros more. and even more than a sub or a Gyros would be Roti. Potatoe or Goat yummm.
JofaGuht Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Originally posted by Darth Eggplant I said chinese, which for me encompasses, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese etc. I don't think that Chinese can represent those all. I think they are all extremely different(of course this is arrogant Mr. Pallette-for-taste speaking here). Japanese is the starchiest and contains the most seafoo, Thai is like super strong and the taste stays in your mouth for weeks, as well as how hard it hits the stomach. American Chinese is somewhat neutral, has a lot of sour ingredients, And real Chinese Chinese is more elegant and spicy. I have not had Vietnamese, except once I had a Vietnamese Iced Tea, i have to admit that it didn't taste very good. Those are my rudely criticizing two cents... By the way, 009, MSG is Japanese. Also, one the poll, is the Chinese food supposed to be American Chinese or Authentic Chinese Chinese? Doesn't matter...both of them beat the other foods on their...not saying they're bad or anything.
C Shutt Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 I like all of the above, but Mexican is clearly vastly superior to the others.
scabb Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Mexican. They should really open up a junk-food-fast-type mexican restaurant around here, it's a market that must be satisfied. Salad is for ladies.
Darth Eggplant Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 *I'm changing my vote to fillet of Jofa's Liver served with a nice Chianti* 'Clairese bring that cork screw will you?' oh Jofa come along my little lamb time to stop talking now.
GendoTheGreat Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 I like Chinese (real and western) best of all the choices there, but I'd have to say my favourite foods would be those of my mother's native Ukraine. There's nothing like a big bowl of hot Kartoplyanka (potato soup) on a cold night, with huge chunks of fresh homemade cornbread for dipping. Mmmmm. Incidentally, Ukrainian food is a lot like German food, but not as heavy or strong.
ckcsaber Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Sandwiches! Subways Southwest chicken is the best!

That's a fast food Mexican restaurant. Doesn't taste very good though.
scabb Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 Yeah, I know, never had a Taco Bell. There's no such place here; I'm not even sure if there are Taco Bells in London, but I'm further up North than that; so we eat people. Wakefield does have a rather expensive mexican restaurant tucked inside the main general town-area, but I can't even afford to get a bus there at the moment.
Boba Rhett Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 Oh it's all good. You should really try DJG with some worcestershire sauce.
JofaGuht Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 Hey, we neglected Italian. That's probably my favorite.
Tall Guy Posted March 7, 2003 Posted March 7, 2003 Mexican food gets my vote, and the new salsa noodles that have just come out arnt bad either
scabb Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 Are there any mentions of Mexican food in Grim Fandango? I'm pretty sure Manny never ate a Taco or attended a chilli cookoff. In fact, I'm not even sure if they eat. I'm currently playing through it again, I can't remember any of Rubacava. I just saw Lolo get sprouted and she left behind a weird card thing. Oh, and another thing - How come she just turned entirely to flowers and her skeleton disappeared when the guys in the morgue seem intact?
Taos Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 Oh how I love Mexican food! I could eat it almost everyday! I really enjoy sangria...which is the Mexican wine [in case you didn't know ].
