My experience with no-doz pills...

So I have a huge paper that might be due tomorrow. I dont know the professor changed the due date a few times, so I'm not sure now. So I decide to get it all done tonight so it's out of the way. To assist me, I decided to use some no-doz pills (for those who dont know, they're basically the opposite of sleeping pills... concetrated caffeine). I've used them before, in a small dose. I'm a big guy, so they didnt work well. So I decided to double the reccomended dosage from 2 to 4.

Bad idea.

The first hour, I felt very little. At around the hour and a half mark, I began feeling shaky. A gnawing hunger began eating at my stomach. At around two hours, it became too much, and I devoured three hotdogs. I still felt hungry, but I felt full too. I was jumpy, almost twitchy. I began to feel ill, and almost threw up.

Even now, I'm typing in quick bursts. I feel my hands shaking as rthey pass over the keys, and it's difficult to focus on any single thing at once. Coherent thoughts are difficult, as I am tired, but not... my mind is tired, but my body wants to keep going.

Muscles are stiff now. My back hurts a little.

Anyone else have a bad experience with no-doz pills? It truly does suck hard...

My older brother was in the same predicament as you only he, for reasons beyond anyone, decided to take like 7 of them. It sounds like you may have gotten too much for your system to handle. I'd go ahead and call someone you know and stay on the phone with them for a while just in case you need help.

I don't need pills. I drink so much liquid caffeine that I have no need for pills.

After doing this for almost 5 years now, I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that it might be better for me to actually sleep every once in a while.

I had such a horrible hang over on saturday that I slept the entire day. When I finally woke up I had this weird, awesome feeling: WTF?? I'M NOT TIRED!?

Ummm.. no, I have not have bad no-doz-pill-experiences and I doubt I should be posting on this thread. :o

I try to stay away from caffeine pills, more specifically no-doz and vivarin, they always make my stomach hurt. I discovered this in high school, so i started drinking large amounts of soda and coffee. Then one day one of my friends comes up to me with a bottle of something called "mini-thins", and they would be good at keeping me awake so I could study and keeping me going for games and practice. Little did I know, or anyone else back in 1994/1995 when I was a junior in high school, just how bad these "mini-thins". You see, mini-thins were straight up, over the counter pills of pure ephedrine, aka, ephedra, aka ma huang, aka, that stuff that killed a bunch of athletes because they took it before they worked out. Which I find horrifying now, because I used to take it before all my games and practices too, and I played 3 varsity sports in high school. That adds up to a hell of a lot of ephedrine. Heck, me and my roommate went half on a bottle of 500 pills of ephedra, I used to take ten of'em at a time. No joke at all, I can't beleive I'm not dead, knowing now how bad that stuff is for you.

Actually I pictured him jumping around and screaming. Just like in the episode of South Park, with the Underpants Gnomes....(I think it was the one where Tweek was introduced :D!)!

I took no-doze once for work as I hadn't gotten sleep the night before. Did not like it at all, and it was just one dose. From then on, if I needed an extra boost of caffeine, I just drink more coffee, or in dire situations drink some Mt Dew (yack!).

Kylilin, mini thins kicked ass! Man, I haven't even thought about those for almost a decade. You just gave me a little trip down memory lane :)
