ckcsaber
From aintitcool.com Its already being penned author, Thomas Harris and is presently titled: The Lecter Variation. Centering around the young Hannibal Lecter, following his child hood in his native land, Lithuania, traveling through Paris in his teenage years and then ending up in the States to munch more. Dino is seeking out four different actors to play the serial killer, fro, age 12, 16, 20 and 25. It is said that Lecter fled his rich family, killing his parents and having a close relationship zith his sister. 2005 is the expected release. Hmmm…… I hope Hopkins makes some sort of apperance. They also need to find a really evil looking actor to play Lecter when he is younger. Any thoughts?
Rogue Nine
I'm going to have a hard time accepting any other actor as Hannibal Lecter. Anthony Hopkins is Hannibal Lecter. I will watch this new movie, though. I'm too much of a Lecter fan not to.

Rad707_Pandaz
Whoa! Awesome! I've been trying to advertise that idea for months and those guys finally listened to me! Although my idea was that Hannibal's son, Lionel Lector, (or a copycat) was killing people and was sending letters to Hannibal. Then Hannibal reflects on his past while Agent Starling and Will Graham try to catch both Hannibal and his son. Then I was going to have it end in a tragedy. As for who to play young Hannibal Lector? I think British actor, International Independant film superstar, and Academy Award nominee Tim Roth (Resevoir Dogs, Deciever, Four Rooms, tons more) would do the job great. He played a Hannibal-like character in Deciever so I know he's got the creepiness factor up to a 10. The scene in Deciever where Tim Roth's character kills his mother, then uses the knife to spread butter on his bread...classic Hannibal. Tim Roth also bears a striking resemblance to ol' Anthony Hopkins. Check it out.
ckcsaber
His nose is a tad too big, but other than that he looks pure Hanibal, down to the slicked back hair.

Taos
I can't wait for this, I really enjoyed Red Dragon. I felt that it had re-captured the same drama/ideas that The Silence of the Lambs had. Posted by Niner I'm going to have a hard time accepting any other actor as Hannibal Lecter. Anthony Hopkins is Hannibal Lecter. I will watch this new movie, though. I'm too much of a Lecter fan not to. I couldn't have said it any better!
Iodius
They should get Jake Lloyd to play the young Hannibal. He's amazing, and such range! *swoon* I also think a good choice for the early adult Hannibal would be David Schwimmer.
Surfnshannon
Red Dragon was AWESOME. I was so dissapointed in Hannibal, the second movie. I liked to be scared...not grossed out to the point where I need to run to the bathroom every 5 min to puke. At points I thought I'd accidently brought home a copy of Fear Factor ....but Red Dragon!!! YAY. Oh I hope that this movie will be much more like that movie - I just hope that they don't do it with the whole "flashback" thing going on. I hate flashbacks....ack. Thrackan Solo
For a young Hannibal i think the kid from Signs should be him ahh...whats his name?
Rad707_Pandaz
The kid from Signs was Rory Culkin, Machauley's little brother. I think he would be a pretty good young Hannibal. I think the movie will be okay, but I think they're doing the story all wrong. Hannibal needs to have a dark past, and you just can't do that when Hannibal is like 12-15 years old. I mean, c'mon, "Hannibal in Puberty"? They should shrink it down to just 3 actors. 1 actor to portray Hannibal when he's a kid, and 1 to portray Hannibal when he's around 17 or 20, and 1 more to portray Hannibal at age 30 and beyond. And I still think Tim Roth would be the ultimate Lector at age 30 and beyond. I also hope that that age takes up a large chunk of the movie, I don't wanna be stuck in pee-wee hell forever. If anybody still doubts Tim Roth as Hannibal Lector let me enlighten you by telling you that Tim Roth was offered the part of Lector in the movie "Hannibal". Actually, just as they were about to start production, Anthony Hopkins popped up. So Tim Roth got shafted. If you don't believe me I have a few quotes here from http://www.movies.go.com. "...And finally, it appears that Scott isn't taking any chances on being left high and dry if Hopkins opts to give Hannibal a miss. London's Daily Mail reports that the director is planning to meet with British actor Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, Rob Roy) later this month to discuss the possibility of Roth's taking on the film's titular role." "...Perhaps not coincidentally, the BBC reports that Sir Anthony Hopkins has now consented to reprise his most famous role, bringing back the cinema's most suave and sophisticated serial killer. That's bad news for Tim Roth, whom sources say had indeed spoken to director Ridley Scott about the possibility of taking Hopkins' place as the good doctor. Jodie Foster has yet to say yea or nay to the film, but if Hopkins does indeed re-insert himself into the mix, it's hard to imagine she'll turn it down."
