-=ReApEr=-
Ok people. I recently, decided to visit some other forums then JediknightII.net and Swgalaxies.net. After browsing some certain forums, i am shocked at what i see. First off being abused, for one my age secondly the amount of posts i have built up recently. I am shocked to see, that not all the forums within the LucasForums network. Are abiding by the rules, if some of us forums have to do it what about the rest. I really think this is a issue, it sets a bad example. And puts off New and old members, and of course potential members. I know i will get a lot of stick for posting this, but recently some certain forums have gone completely crazy. It is causing many arguments, swearing is going around. And who controls what bit of the forums is coming into the argument. Supermods that visit these certain forums, are getting abused for touching there forums posts. And are being called power hungry staff members and other offensive names, which i will not list for obvious reasons. I myself feel this issue should be solved now, by making a new LF policy. Where all the forums within the LF Network, must all follow one set of rules. Forums that break these rules, should be dealt with appropriately, like i said i am only a ordinary member. Which has took some abuse along with many more. But the main point of this post is, to maintain peace and order within the LF Network itself. By making a set of rules which all forums must abide by. I would appreciate any comments and overviews on this suggestion, Thank You very much.
Lost Welshman
I Know exacly what you mean, Its like going to England ( No Offence ) Or worse, France, They try and run foreigners (SP?) over there! Well, in Paris they do anyway. (No Offence Again) This is the reason I only stick to the swamp, most other places are full of nasty people. As far as I can tell The Swamp is the best place, The Monkey Island forums are used to be good, Until recent events, so I have been told by an anonymous person. I don't mind if this problem isn't fixed as I stay here, but that doesn't mean its should be ok for people to swear openly at people they don't no a thing about (Doing it to friends is much more acceptable ). It's not making the LucasForum Network look good at all.
Wraith 8
Nice of you to notice reaper. but i must point out that isnt a new problem. It has been a problem every since the Forums were united under the Lucasforums. I myself had quite the flame on me when i visited Sam and max about 2 years ago..... (its all settled now tho) People tend to get very hung up on the forums they visit over all this time. I myself began at RogueSquadron.net but it isnt the place i joined 3 years ago. But i still know the kind of rule that goes around there. Each forum attracts a different kind of people. RSN and XWA tend to attrect more EGO persons (no offence) then say saber slashers on the JK forums. There are certain rules all over the LF. Like the swearing, flame wars, warez, pr0n and like that. But implementing a lot of same rules would not benefit the community of each forum. What im trying to say is. Dont post stuff on forums you just visit that you dont know for sure will be aproved. being a weirdo gets you a long way on RSN but on GeeBee they will go like: Yeah right whatever. get to know the kind of forum first. then post on it. And that whole supermod stuff has already been worked out amongst the staff. so no worries there. The idea is good reaper. but the peronalities of each forum is so different that it would not work to well. my thoughts -Wraith 8-

Dude, nobody said a thing about your age if you care to read the actual posts, and you have received an apology from the guy who accused you of spamming. This issue is already being blown out of proportion in other forums, and totally has nothing to do with you.

ZBomber
Hmm... I don't post much at XWA, because they don't really except me (They seem seriosu a lot) I posted at RSN for awhile, and then they kept saying that I was a noob and I should stop spamming (which, I still don't get. There were peopel there spamming a lot more than me) I posted at the Grim Fandango forums for a week or so. Same as XWA. I post a few times at GeeBee, and I like it there. So, I think I'll stick with here, the Swamp, and GeeBee.

Lynk Former
Okay first of all, some of these forums have been around since the dawn of time so expect XWA and Aresen to have a different set of values. XWA is said to be a n00b no go zone, it's an aright place but the ppl there like their forum nice and cosey with regulars. Aresen was nice and open and welcomed all the n00bs but then after awhile we, the regulars felt like our dear Aresen was being taken over and turned into another swamp. We're not mean at Aresen, we just got annoyed for a little bit. Second, don't expect XWA or Aresen to change, the forums don't need modding, it basically mods themselves and it's worked out like this for a long time. At Aresen we are nice to newcomers but we do watch you like a hawk because we don't want anything we consider bad in our forum... it looks bad to have a closed topic mixed around in there you know And that is what I would like to say in defence of Aresen and to a lesser extent XWA... *looks at Wraithy* Ego? *cries* But I'm happy-go-lucky... you're mean... XD u nog But anywayz, the reason a lot of forums have different values is because before LucasForums was created the forums used to be seperate and therefore the communities more seperated... so a seperate set of values was created... and even now newer forums after the birth of LF have their own values... Darth Groovy
This is already being discussed in other areas. The problem will most likely be resolved soon, with everyone's interests in mind, so no need to worry.

Joshi
Originally posted by matt-windu Which rules are said forums not abiding by? Link me to these rules. Annoyingly, not only did this 'said forum' used to be a seperate forum to everything else before LF, but up until a few months ago, it used to be three different forums, now merged into one and therefore now with a larger community. Therefore, rules from such places as mixnmojo have leaked into there as well as rules from completely seperate forums, not affiliated with LF. And now we have a confusion. Some people on these forums have been around on an independant forum way before LF and therefore have values and rules that they abide to. You could kindly ask them to abide by these new set of rules or just get out, but at the end of the day, they never asked to be added to LF nore mixed with the rest of the community. Admittedly, it had it's good points and the good must be taken with the bad, but remember, it's not all there fault. At this time, I would like to go with Matt Windu and ask for these rules, and I don't mean the one posted in some other forum, but actual rules of the forums that everyone has to know. There are Terms and Conditions for registering here, but none of these actually state and Iron Clad rules.
Lynk Former
Too many cooks can ruin the... however that line ends... But anywayz, it's pretty damn hard to make up a set of rules for such a large range of communities to be able to follow. Try to compare the ppl at SWK with the ppl at mixnmojo, they're very different communities and somehow these rules will have to be fair to both communities or it'll seem like the rules are favouring one communities ways to another... it's very political which is something I don't want to be a part of. I like my life simple thank you...
Rogue Nine
There really isn't all that much to discuss anymore. Just let the administrative staff handle this.
