Reborn Outcast
Well at least they can appeal... and they won the right to show the orignal Matrix by appealing. So they have a chance at least.

You can watch it just as a movie and as a Christian knowing what is right from wrong. Same thing with Harry Potter. Just because it has wizardry in it doesn't mean that it will damn you to hell, but as long as you read it as a book and not start some cult ... you're fine. •-BLaCKouT-•
I despair. I really do. Like you've all said, it's just a film. A friend of mine has Egyptian parents who moved to the Netherlands in the 1980's because of the way things are over there. Still, I suppose it works for some people, and lord knows 'Western Civilisation' is far from perfect, buy hey. We can only hope they'll revoke the ban. B. . HertogJan
AAAAARGH!!! Why do all countries (except mine, hehe) have to whine so much about all those small things... You can't say **** on television, you can't have a movie with some elements of the creation of men, you can't have beer when you're not 21  Where's this world going to, ppl seriously gotta relax I think it would be a better world if ppl wouldn't be so easily offended, especially when talking about religion! Breton
It is sad that people ban something just because it does not follow the national religious beliefs. People are just way too touchy about religion. Myself, I dislike all forms of public religion. IMO, religion clouds judgement and kills logic. For instance, those really-extremist christians who wants to ban things such as Pokemon, Harry Potter and D&D because it leads to occult, dark magic and dealings with the devil and the dark arts. Of course, I can't believe it is many that supports this, for instance. Yet, religious people tends to base their whole knowledge on a fictional book. El Sitherino
i think there is an underlying factor. they said the issues of it questioning life might be one(questioning existence that much is one of the signs of suicidal depression) just a thought. also it has more of a old world christian kind of theme behind the whole belief of how the "world" was made and how "man" was made. egypt is mainly protestant christian and islamic. i believe they are mostly protestant christian and the muslims are shiite(i believe that's what they are, though i can't remember for sure). i think it's more of the questioning the whole belief structure. the southern baptists here in texas are telling church members to not allow their children to see the movie and for the adults to not see it aswell because it "deforms" their belief system and brainwashes children into sacreligious tendencies. i believe there are also many other churches not wanting members to see it along with bruce almighty. it seems to be more of the old world christians that are banning it. they have even protested to get the movie actually banned in texas.
