legameboy
Why do you have to insult us. I play with a little group of RPG duelers and it's fun, but then FFAers come and invade our little server/community and start laming us for no reason. Leave us alone and we'll leave your servers. Luc Solar
Please define "laming".
legameboy
Laming for us is usually when somebody comes into the server, breaks all the rules on purpose and gets everyone mad or to leave, and then he himself leaves if he is not banned already. In simpler terms, he breaks the rules and ruins our RPing on purpose.
Antilles_CL
Heh yes what is laming? And being a noob? How do you all define it??
legameboy
I define a newbie as someone who is worse at things than other people and boasts that he/she is better or knows more than everyone else. (Or is just a brat.) I am not as good as everyone else, and heck I have a long way to go before I am good, but I don't act like a idiotic |84$74r|) brat, and that alone should count towards not being a newbie. lllKyNeSlll
post a sign on your server on the info saying, RPG SERVER, kill without permit and get booted or something like that.
legameboy
The thing is, we do that. Once they enter the server, the list of rules is shown on their screen for enough time for them to read them.
lllKyNeSlll
It's not me then. Although I do everything in my power to win, I always follow the rules.

legameboy
No, most people who lame are not newbies. Most have true skill, but some like to ruin our (we RPGers) fun.
fallen[fk]
Simple solution. DONT FREAKING RP IN A FPS GAME! Play the game the way it was meant to be played. There is no such thing as "laming" in any video game. Quit crying to raven about saber and force moves, and quit crying about getting "lamed". It's a freaking online FPS, NOT an MMORPG, not an RPG at all. You nubs just corrupted it into one. I will continue to go on any server I choose and play the game the way it was meant to be played, and I will do so until either I'm banned from every little rpg newbie server, or you all realize the idiocy in rp'ing in an FPS. shock ~ unnamed
You want to RPG? More power to you. There are tons of servers that are made for role playing and I have never even thought about setting foot on one. I have no desire to ruin the fun of others just because I don't agree with what you do with your time. However there is a *huge difference between role playing and being a total ****ing ***hole on public FFA servers. You look at all of those "laming" demos I have posted. It's not me the "lamer" who is running around spouting off racial slurs or telling people I'm going to rape their mothers just because I got killed. If I go into a server and I see a bunch of people pretending to be Chewbacca or whatever I just leave. If I go into a server and I run up and kick a guy in the middle of a FFA and he calls a vote to kick me or gives me the usual "OMFG YOU GHEY LAMER!!!111" bull**** you bet your ass I'm going to beat the hell out of him for pure enjoyment. It has *nothing to do with wanting to ruin the rpg crowds fun. It has *everything to do with wanting to tell the Nazi admins and Nazi “let’s all gang up on this guy who is just trying to play and force him out of the server” players that this mentality *does piss people off and if you behave like that expect to run into a player who can and will beat the hell out of you until *you leave out of frustration. wassup
Why dont you ask the admin to lock/password the server? Or make your own server and invite the your fellow RPGers?
shock ~ unnamed
honestly if it is a public server you will have to deal with random people connecting and attacking you. If you really want to rpg in peace I would suggest omni mod. most players who are just out to kill other players won't download it or even look for servers running it. legameboy
ok, well, after all your expressions against or for RPing. I just would like to say why we RP in JO. There is no other game to do that. Star Wars Galaxies sucks, and KOTOR is singleplayer. Edit: After watching several of Mr. Joshua's and shock~unnamed's demos, I've given up. I realize how sad we are now and I've decided to play for real, the only probolem is, I'm not really what you call "good", I'm more like "poor". So if anyone wants to take the time to train me a bit. PM me.

I wouldn't touch omni-mod, so if you want to RP on a pub download that(though if there get to be too many, I will download it). And about getting trained, you should try http://www.thejediacademy.net It has password protected servers(very stable with 2 North American and 1 European), Trainers who admin the server and teach(though they are kept in check by a great guy, DJSith aka NerfYoda), and a nice set of rules to make things newbie friendly. The academy has the right idea. If you want to impose "strict" rules on people then make it voluntary. Here people know far in advance what they are getting into(and agree to it) and its not crammed down their throat while they try to enjoy a game. So there you have it. fallen[fk]
Holy ****BALLS do we have a convert?!?!? *starts to teeter in chair* I think I'm going to faint. HOLY ****BALLS!!!!!! Today is indeed a good day. If we can reach one of them, perhaps, just perhaps, our mission is worthwhile. Wo0t.

Haemon
Somebody get Fallen a wet towel and a glass of milk. 1 down, 1273 left And if you want to learn to be really good then stop by the shock server(in unnamed's sig). But they are really brutal if you don't know how to at least pk and pt.

It's no different than going to a gun server and trying to get people to saber fight. It simply isn't going to happen. I really would try those omni mod servers if I were you. I've only heard good things about them from the RPG crowd in jk2. As for "playing for real" well you simply have to remember two things. 1- You don't get better from winning; you get better from losing and learning from your mistakes. It may get frustrating but after a short while you *will start to see what you are doing wrong and it will get easier. 2- Don’t be afraid to ask people for help. I would much rather spend 20 minutes showing a newbie a combo than have to listen to 20 seconds of "WTF!!?? That **** is cheap/lame" because I hit them with something they have never seen. When I was learning how to play every time someone kicked my ass with some combo I had never seen if I could not figure it out on my own I just asked them to show me and most did. I can’t speak for everyone but I for one would much rather have people asking me to show them moves instead of trying to vote me off servers for them.
