  2. Ron Gilbert said what he had in mind as the secret when he developed The Secret of Monkey Island. I'm simply wondering if MI2's finale, when it came out, was deliberately conceived to reveal (or at least foreshadow) that secret or it was some "let's do something weird" sort of thing.

  4. I totally agree and maybe what can come out of this is a respectable poster and/or a cardboard sleeve to slide over top our EMI boxes. 😛 Unfortunately for my taste, I think I prefer the more dynamic Guybrush on the magazine than what is on the poster. Also of note this poster is NOT from the same magazine in this post. It's actually of a paper size slightly bigger than this magazine and does have staple holes where it was likely inserted in the middle of some magazine. I think when I found it listed on eBay it may have been titled more to do with the Tomb Raider game on the flipside of the poster. The original owner also unfortunately used some sticky tape on the EMI side that tore the artwork away. (Spot reserved for first page of article that I failed to take a picture of...) I'm curious if I have picked up any of the promo/media discs around this timeframe that may also have this artwork digitally. I may not be able to look for that in my stuff for awhile though.

  5. Keep up the good work, Daniel. That you're "banking" all these developer memories is something posterity is going to be grateful for.

  7. Following up with the main news page about Grim Fandango celebrating it's 25th anniversary (oh my oldness), IAm8Bit just brought back their 20th Anniversary vinyl printing of the Grim Fandango soundtrack. In other related schwag news, you can get yourself this very fine Double Fine hat. But also, a life-sized Psychonauts brain-door (hinged, lenticular pin).

  8. I have tried my hand at making a few for myself though they are not great since I rely on whatever I find over the internet which is not that good, so far I made the three Alone in the Dark and Kyrandia 3 but they are far from perfect (though they look great on print ;P). I also recently made a small amount of posters from some of the old SSI and D&D games I found the art of at a really nice quality so I made them for the Eye of the Beholder 1-3 games, Al-Qadim, Pool of Radiance and 2 for Ravenloft and I really like how they came out. I mostly wanted to display the original art and not the cropped versions used on some of the covers since I loved the art but those covers were kind of ugly, but I made a frame to simulate the feel of the original box a bit with the titles (some with a different font) and I added the much needed artist credits. You can find them here if you are interested in those: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Sq-jQPewL6O9f9q2IeccjkpPuTulB4Px?usp=sharing This is how they look if you don't want to browse the link.
