  1. I have to say, I like your new avatar... Tom Hagen. Although, and I might be wrong, shouldn't it be Il Consigliere?

Have you ever read the novelisation?

  2. I have. ;)

I'm afraid I don't have much time for multiplayer. Welcome to the forums. :)

  3. I haven't stopped writing it, per se. Inspiration for it is running a little tight at the moment. I did start on another part - i'll see if I can't conjur up some inspiration and maybe get something done to it by the weekend.

I'm glad to know that there's people who want to read more!

  4. I know, it was a terrible pun...

You're training in medicine? That sounds very intense!

  5. I present your party a gift, as a thank you for the comely wenches:

    picture.php?albumid=100&pictureid=2280

I can only hope that someday my toadying will be rewarded... :D

  6. I think I might start flinging accusations... did you know John McCain eats babies?

And that Sarah Palin is actually a member of an organisation so secret only the caribou know about it? Thus, her reasons for killing them are to stop the truth from coming out... :p

  7. I think they would have to go back in time, as without some extreme changes to their current engine and style of play, the Modern era would be too difficult to represent (planes, formations and tactics would be difficult to do on such a scale).

The 20th century would definately be complex, if only due to the massive changes that took place - we went from using Cavalry to Helicopter gunships in only 80-100 years!

The Big three eras have already been covered (Classical, Medieval, and now Early Modern), and of course the Shogun era of Japan, so I can't see where they would go - there's a thousand possibilities, and only Creative Assembly have any idea. But, whatever they do, it'll be certain of success.

But, they could always venture to the future - but that would be a departure from their previous games.

Besides, we've got a good two to three years of Conquering/Defending India to look forward to yet! :D

  8. I thought I recognised the 'organised hypocrisy' quote as being attributed to him.

It's good to see you back!

  9. I thought you'd enjoy it! Don't worry, though, the next part is on its way... college is getting in the way a bit though.

Biggest problem is trying to avoid 'Deadwood revisionism' (read: not including the f word every six words, and trying to keep it PG-13). Although I don't have it in me to do ultra-violent and gritty. :D

  10. I understand the need to infract someone, after all, we don't have many troublemakers in the CEC.

So, you can infract me if want, just to say you did... ;)

I would hope they end up at the IWM - I can't see the government pressing them into service! And, as you say, the gold might help the economy just at the right time.

And the snow isn't too bad here - or, at least, not as bad as London and the South-East. I measured three inches last night, but there's said to be more on the way...

  12. I'll be honest - i'm not sure. Unfortunately, although I love Tom Baker's doctor, i've only ever managed to see a few of his episodes - I know, it's shameful!

I am, however, doing my very best to catch up. Can you recommend any particularly good episodes?

  13. Astor

    I'm absolutely great, thanks.

And with the Star Trek stuff, I think it kinda follows that people into Star Wars are into other Sci-Fi. It just takes the right words to bring it out in them...

  14. I'm not an admin, so I can't set up new sections on the boards - my 'powers' only extend as far as keeping order and preventing spam.

In addition, there would need to be some serious interest in such a thing for it to be properly considered by the staff - which if why a subsection for the books hasn't been made - there needs to be some existing interest (and a lot of it) for anything like that to be set up.

    ;) AK.

  15. I'm not responsible for his ban, but I can't discuss the reasons for his ban - that's between Mandalore the Shadow and the staff.

It's only a temp-ban, so he'll be back in a couple of days.

  16. I'm sorry if it looked like I was 'dissing' RC, and Traviss by extension. That wasn't my plan. I love RC, and I liked her first RC book.

I don't know why she chose not to finish the book - she won't explain herself, but she mentioned that it was due to 'contractual issues' - that could be any number of things, but it's often one thing - the money she was getting paid.

If it was, due to her being unhappy with The Clone Wars, then I think she'd have said it more clearly when she announced her departure. She said she wasn't happy about the new direction they were taking, but she made it clear that she quit, not that she was fired/let go, when she could have tried to work it out.

I apologise if my post looked as if it was simply 'dumping' on RC. That wasn't my intention - I thought it would be better to explain my disagreement, so rather than just say 'that sucks', i'd say why I think it sucks. I don't have problem with people liking her work, it just isn't for me. :)

  17. I've been great thank you. I've now left the shackles of College, and gone straight into the realm of unemployment. :p

    Job-hunting is definitely fun, though!

  18. If a few quantum torpedoes wouldn't do it, then there's the Tricobalt devices carried for larger demolition - or something nifty involving a deflector dish, some paperclips and borg nanoprobes... :)

SW is a great fantasy - a story of good triumphing over evil - ST is a more utopian view - and stories often reflect that - exploration over conquest, peace over war. It focuses more on the way humans would evolve to join the galaxy and bring peace, as opposed to humanity's capability to make war.

  19. In answer to your question - A moderator is there to make sure that a forum runs smoothly, civilly and within the rules of guidelines LucasForums. The specific rules for the RC forum can be found here.

I've been drafted because the RC forum has been without a dedicated moderator for a while, and, in light of the occasional problems that crop up, the staff felt the need for a more regular presence.

Basically, my job is to make sure that everyone in the RC Forum plays nicely with each other, and keep spam to a minimum. I hope that answers some of your questions.

    AK. :thmbup1:

  20. Interesting... I may mosey on over...

I won't comment on whether I want him banned or not, I don't mind either way, just so long as some sources other than Fox, or another Conservative shoutbox are used for a change.

I may drop out eventually, as I can only type the same things so many times :p

  21. Astor

It certainly is, although i'm being cautiously optimistic until we know about the full details.

I have to admit though, that during his goodbye speech, I almost liked Gordon Brown.

  22. It is popular, but stickies are really reserved for important announcements and other associated topics.

Howver, if LucasArts ever does announce a Republic Commando 2, it'll be stickied then.

  23. It was English for all in Medieval. I couldn't play as the French or Germans because they sounded as if they were straight from Monty Python.

The native languages is a far better approach - and, I have it on good authority that we can rename individual units and ships - I'm expecting a lot of 'HMS Pwnzalls' and similar stuff.

Uniforms are pretty well done - the only exception is that for European armies it's the same officer in a different colour, so i'm hoping it'll change. And i'm with you on the excited part!

  24. It's a great series (even though I haven't read through all of them, I haven't been disappointed with the four i've read so far), and a perfect mix of history and humour.

It's just a shame Fraser died without having written more... I would've really liked to read about his adventures in the American Civil War.

  25. It's been a while since I played them, but I do remember Surrectum has Areas of Recruitment - for instance, if you recruit a legion in Italy, it will be a certain legion, while in another province it would be from a different legion.

And If I remember correctly, they both remove the Julii, Brutii and Scipii families in favour of a single, unified Roman Faction - something I thought was a lot better.
