Here's the FOA map (1200 dpi versions can be found HERE) : Once I've cleaned it up properly (removing the centerfold and any dirt and damage), I'll add several versions of it to the main post. Again, thanks to everybody who donated!

Those are actually distance markers (in miles). So they usually change when a road gets an extension (or a reroute), or new roads get added (since these mark the distances between the "red dots" on the map, which are usually placed at intersections). Also, thanks a LOT for the hassle to get to those scans. I'll clean this up nicely.

Sneak peek. Don't have time for more right now.

When done right, yeah. I can't fully see Indy working as a shooter (he's pretty well defined as not killing everyone in sight), though Emperor's Tomb at least had the right idea (if a bit comically executed) regarding hand-to-hand combat. If the game focuses more on the puzzles and action setpieces, I'm in. Ah, who am I kidding, I'll get this no matter what.

To be honest, I'm fully expecting a wannabe Uncharted from this. But what I AM really excited about (weirdly, just like with the fifth Indy movie) is the soundtrack. The last Indy game was Staff of Kings, which got a hybrid orchestral/samples soundtrack. By now, fully orchestral soundtracks are the norm for AAA games, and someone like Gordy Haab could surely compose something that at least sounds really close to John Williams.

As long as you don't sell them for profit, I don't mind.

I guess I'll share the "original" as well then (more info HERE) :

Yeah, I think discussions about custom boxes should better be moved to their own thread. Also because it's a fascinating topic that should get its own spotlight.

Monkey Island Soundtracks – Album Covers

I'm using a chain of several models, so that helps keeping detail. -
Yeah, and possibly to avoid copyright trouble. Who would have though, someone like Crumb would dig the source out 30 years later 😆

Regarding track listings, for my old soundtrack covers I used the inside of the front cover as a mini booklet to include them: Granted, the design is roughly 2 decades old, so I would probably make them a bit nicer today. -
We'll see. Maybe some proper cleanup and some AI tinkering will make this good enough (the original was rather blurry - I assume it was a photograph rather than a flatbed scan).
-
So is this one stapled? Also it will be interesting to see how much resolution we can pull out of a 30 year old print. I somehow have the desire to vectorize it.

El Pollo Diablo: -
@Dmnkly As I understand it, Ron was sitting in during the recording sessions. Was that first, or was he on site during the Special Edition recordings too? If it was a first, did it add any additional pressure or a special atmosphere to have the creator of Monkey Island right there?
-
That's an old link though. The one in the opening post of this thread is much more up-to-date.

To be fair, that's pretty much what I assumed. I guess I should have asked last year, when there was no sign of ever being another MI game. 😉
-
Some of those Twitter comments suggest that those left two pirates might be Bart and Fink. I never drew that connection, but they do look similar. Also, did Steve Purcell use his own face for the pirate on the right?
-
Well, Ron DID recently lament the fact that MI1 has mostly generic responses for hotspots, so there's probably a lot of specific dialogue in this. But that would hardly add up to a couple of thousand extra lines.
-
Yeah, Indy 5 and Spielberg's "The Fabelmans", and the latter seems to be already finished. Obviously he won't stop composing, as he's always said he'd do that until he drops dead, but no full fledged Hollywood soundtrack with tight deadlines.
-
That's really sad. And he's absolutely adamant in mentioning his retirement whenever it's brought up. In theory it could mean that it's just a marketing ploy to have them reveal "one last Struzan" poster next year, but that's probably too optimistic.
-
I just can't bring myself to getting excited yet. The trailer will surely push me over the edge (I know KOTCS's trailer did), but 4 missed the mark on so many aspects, even after the promise of going absolutely old-school with it. Granted, the switch to Mangold could provide enough new ideas to result in a great movie, but I'll stay sceptical until seeing it. What I AM excited about to no end is the prospect of one last John Williams soundtrack. The last soundtrack of his career, and it will be Indy. How amazing is that?

I think I found a silhouette in the background that looks like Guybrush. Has that been discussed yet?
