Loved the panel! The constant Stan-like promotion of Williams' new game was a bit annoying (especially towards Dom's interesting questions), but apart from that I really enjoyed everybody's stories. Kudos to Frank Cifaldi for keeping it well balanced and on track all the time too. And man, Lowe is still sharp as a needle. I hope he'll return to write a (non-LSL) game at some point.

If anything we'll at least get one last banger of a Williams score out of this.
-
Also, again, the frickin' MUSIC!!!
-
Damn, I can already see tons of puzzle opportunities in this scene with these inventory items. Also: multiple "verbs" per hotspot confirmed.
-
And he'll lose it five minutes into the game.

Before the trailer dropped, for a short moment I had the hope that the "big" news would be a German-dubbed trailer (fitting the venue), announcing foreign language dubs for us nostalgic foreigners. Also, $25 feels incredibly low for what I expect to be a massive game, at least for adventure game standards (which has been developed for over 2 years). I guess it's too niche to ask for more after all?

I'm pretty sure the lines connecting the hover text to the hotspots are a clear sign that the gamepad-controls won't simply have a mouse cursor you drive around with the right stick. Otherwise the position of the cursor would be indication enough what the hotspot is.
-
For Switch controls I'm hoping for walking with the left stick while browsing through hotspots with the right stick relative to Guybrush's position. Didn't MI2:SE do that?
-
I've noticed that Low Street has turned from a U-turn (with a fascade where the map dealer stands in MI1) to a 90 degree corner (or an L-turn) in RtMI. The U-turn looked like it was directly taken from the Rothenburg "reference", whereas the RtMI version makes the background look more like a 90 degree camera pan.

Releasing a game during something as big as Gamescom would be a bit counter-productive, as the audience they announce the release to, would spend their weekend at the very same event, with no time to play the game. But a next week release would still be possible.

Stupid me... in a way to not get spoiled, I just glanced at these images for a moment, and what I saw on this shot was clearly a room-sized chicken sitting across from Guybrush. And since it's a demon chicken, I was sure this must be El Pollo Diablo. Now I realize it's just a ghost chicken in the foreground.

I really don't want to read the article. Let's see if I can hold back until release.

That's a bit of a stretch. No Stan's, no Circus, no Carla's, no Meathook's, not the outside of the mansion, nothing of Melee forest, no bridge. Plus, they could easily add more places for this.

The music gives me Blood Island vibes too. This is gonna be so good!

I'm sorry. But it's true.

Even if Harnell plays it comedically in this take, it's clear that he could almost go as growly as Boen. I bet we'll hear a more menacing LeChuck in this game as well.
-
This would mean the first for a SCUMM adventure on the Switch.
-
Steve Purcell pretty much gave us a high-res sprite of MI1's Guybrush already.

The easiest fix would just be empathy. No matter how bad you find this or that, just imagine that instead of shouting your feelings on it towards a video or into a social media post, you are sitting in front of Ron or Rex and sharing your feelings about it all with them. The tone would automatically shift to *at least* "This isn't for me, but...".

I would love to get an artbook for this game, both to see the evolution of the designs and to get a good look at some full backgrounds.
