  1. Surely you can't have a Monkey Island game without Stan or the Voodoo Lady right? Right?! Nah, it's gotta be the monkey, maybe referencing the fact that there won't be any monkey wrench puzzles.
  2. That's reeeally stretching the definition of a Mojo-centric word. No wonder I didn't get it.
  3. Wait, you can hook up the Quest to your PC? I just assumed you had to get it through its own online store which is why I got it that way initially instead of waiting for the Steam version. I wonder if this means I can play Rhombus of Ruin or any other Steam VR game for that matter...
  4. I've Pre-Ordered Beyond Time and Space but I'm not sure yet if I'm gonna get This Time It's Virtual because I already own it on Occulus Quest and I don't want to have to get another (way more expensive) VR headset just to play this version. Having a box is cool though. We'll see...I've got 4 weeks to make up my mind, haha.
  5. I swear I got this by pure luck 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 🖤💛🖤🖤🖤 💛🖤💛🖤💚 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if we got someone wearing an "ask me about Thimbleweed Park" button
  7. Yep. It's very common for stories to open in the past where events in that time effect the overall narrative of the main story. Not once has Ron said that the entire game takes place after 2, just that he wanted the game to start there, probably because he wanted to give closure to fans on that ending but also to pick up where he left off. As far as the rest of the game goes, we now know that nothing was set in stone plot-wise, so anything could happen. I doubt that any story he wanted to tell necessitated taking place entirely before the games he didn't work on; it also means that placing the bulk of the story in the furthest point in the timeline means he's free to use any character he wants, his own or others (like Murray) without any contradictions.
  8. I should point out that Ron has said a lot of things that he seems to have changed his mind on. On the Voodoo Lady..boy would I love to see more of that developed, it was my favourite part of the last 2 chapters. I think they could largely ignore how it was done in Tales because Guybrush pretty much went to trusting her by the end, so then we get to see Ron's take on the whole thing. Also, I never really saw the reveal as saying she was evil, just that she was meddling in the fates of Guybrush and LeChuck to keep balance in the universe by ensuring that there was always an evil pirate with a hero to conquer him. If anything, that cliffhanger could suggest that she had chosen Morgan to replace Guybrush as that hero in a spinoff. Then again...that laugh she does in the post credit scene is rather sinister, and who knows what she intended to use LeChuck's essence in a bottle for...or Guybrush's hand, for that matter.
  9. With regards to Tim's lack of involvement, I think it's a combination of a couple of things, none of which need any kind of conspiratorial thinking around his current standjng with Ron; 1) As has been stated, he's a busy guy. He had a big, now Microsoft-owned company to run, while also making his own games at that company. Not a lot of wiggle room to work on another company's game. 2) Tim tends to prefer moving forward, and after Broken Age, the Lucasarts remasters and Psychonauts 2 I think he probably just wanted to distance himself from the familiar. 3) This is similar to 2, but I think Tim is probably just done with Monkey Island. Out of the three guys, he's got the most prolific resume and is probably tired of going back to that well. I believe I heard that the reason onaretrotip couldn't get an interview with him for his video was because his PR people came back and said he was just tired of talking about those games.
  10. The GOG version recently patched in Earl Boen, but it came with a nasty bug that causes the music to not change correctly in different areas on Flotsam. I just use the DVD version and copy it over to my GOG copy. Works a treat.
  11. If we're ripping off Planet of the Apes, why not Dawn of Monkey Island?
  12. In the words of CMI Guybrush, Hmmm...no. 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 🖤🖤💚🖤💛 💛🖤💚💚🖤 🖤🖤💚💚🖤 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  13. So grumpygamer.com is back up but with comments removed...good idea. Ron has also written a new post titled "When I Made Another Monkey Island" which has basically confirmed that he really didn't have much of an idea of where the game was going to go until he made it. He also made it abundantly clear that when he made that post in 2013, it was not, as he put it, "commandments handed down and etched in stone on a giant tablet". I hope that now people can put their complaints to rest, wait for the game and just enjoy the ride. This is going to be something special and unpredictable, and that's exciting.
  14. Rude! I clicked that link several times until I realised I'd been duped

  16. All we know so far is that Ron wanted to start the game at the carnival. How we get from there to Melee is a mystery at this point, but I think that most of what we do there will be exploring new things like the locksmith's, maybe we don't even go anywhere but the areas we've been shown in screenshots (and probably the mansion). We know that there's a new island in the game that appears to be snow-themed, which I love, and obviously Monkey Island with that catacombs screenshot. It's really hard to get a sense of the game's scope at this stage, in fact it's hard to get a sense of anything really, they're being quite cagey about things like gameplay and plot, all we've really got to go on is the art style. There's going to be just a waterfall of discussion in these forums once a story trailer drops and we see the main cast.
  17. Yeah, I've been refreshing Mojo and Twitter every day since the announcement to see if any new info is out. Idk a whole lot about marketing but I would think that the game must be close to coming out for them to announce it when they did, so I would think they'd want to strike while the iron is hot to make sure people don't forget about the game by the time it comes out, though at the same time I guess they have to build people's expectations and hype. I'm with you though, I'm dying to see Guybrush and some gameplay, along with a release date so I can plan my Monkey marathon 😁
  18. You messaged Dom about possibly recording the stump joke for the Ultimate Talkie right? Did he ever respond?
  19. I keep forgetting you can use letters twice. 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 5/6 🖤🖤💛🖤💛 💚💛🖤🖤🖤 💚🖤🖤💚🖤 💚🖤💚🖤🖤 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  20. What are the chances they'd actually bother with that? Don't get me wrong, I'd love it (especially for MI1), but it's a lot of time and money invested into something that's already been done. Not to mention I doubt people would be happy having to pay for things they should've gotten right the first time like the unfinished backgrounds. A patch of the SEs that we already own would be much more preferable. Honestly the one thing I'd love to see is the stump joke added back in with Dom's voiceover. It feels weird that it's still mentioned in the hint line on Dinky in MI2:SE when people who only experience the series through those versions have no frame of reference. I think the only chance we'd have of getting another take on remastering MI1 and 2 is if they decided to remaster the whole series in one game like the Crash and Spyro trilogies.
  21. I believe you just push any random bone door and you go straight to the big door with all the locks on it.
  22. Yep, no Kate and no spitting contest. IIRC, the map pieces go as follows: Rapp Scallion: Woodsmith just lets you take the nails without needing to saw off the peg leg; lock Stan in the coffin and take the crypt key; open the crypt and each coffin already has the pirate names on them so no Famous Pirate Quotations needed. The map is just lying in the coffin so no Ash 2 Life necessary, therefore no Rapp Scallion resurrection sequence. Captain Marley: The map doesn't fly away after Elaine throws it out the window, you can just pick it up. Therefore, no cliffside, so no fisherman, so no treehouse, so no bone dance. Young Lindy: Buy it outright from the antique shop. No Mad Monkey, no Kate, no spitting contest. Rum Rogers: No monkey wrench puzzle, the waterfall is already shut off. Rum Rogers is gone so no drinking contest, you can push any brick and go down to the skeleton and grap the map piece. I don't think you have to enter the library once in Lite mode.
  23. Well, that was quick. 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 2/6 🖤🖤🖤💛💛 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  24. I think the mistake MI2 made with its Lite mode was removing entire characters and locations to streamline the game, which resulted in the game feeling incomplete, like you were missing out on content. No spitting contest or Kate Capsize, no Rapp Scallion resurrection, no Bone dance, it was overkill with the cuts. Compare that with Curse, where you still get to experience the scope of the adventure, the puzzles are just easier. I think the Lite mode was made in a rush and as a bit of a joke with the whole "this mode is for the press" thing and so less effort was put in to make it a legitimate way of playing through the game. This time though, I think Ron will be actively making sure this is still a more complete experience, but just less of a challenge for less seasoned players.
  25. I didn't even think this was a word when I typed it in 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 6/6 💛💚🖤🖤🖤 🖤💚💚💛🖤 💛💚💚🖤🖤 🖤💚💚💛🖤 🖤💚💚🖤💚 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
