  1. Yeah, I've been refreshing Mojo and Twitter every day since the announcement to see if any new info is out. Idk a whole lot about marketing but I would think that the game must be close to coming out for them to announce it when they did, so I would think they'd want to strike while the iron is hot to make sure people don't forget about the game by the time it comes out, though at the same time I guess they have to build people's expectations and hype. I'm with you though, I'm dying to see Guybrush and some gameplay, along with a release date so I can plan my Monkey marathon 😁
  2. You messaged Dom about possibly recording the stump joke for the Ultimate Talkie right? Did he ever respond?
  3. I keep forgetting you can use letters twice. 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 5/6 🖤🖤💛🖤💛 💚💛🖤🖤🖤 💚🖤🖤💚🖤 💚🖤💚🖤🖤 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  4. What are the chances they'd actually bother with that? Don't get me wrong, I'd love it (especially for MI1), but it's a lot of time and money invested into something that's already been done. Not to mention I doubt people would be happy having to pay for things they should've gotten right the first time like the unfinished backgrounds. A patch of the SEs that we already own would be much more preferable. Honestly the one thing I'd love to see is the stump joke added back in with Dom's voiceover. It feels weird that it's still mentioned in the hint line on Dinky in MI2:SE when people who only experience the series through those versions have no frame of reference. I think the only chance we'd have of getting another take on remastering MI1 and 2 is if they decided to remaster the whole series in one game like the Crash and Spyro trilogies.
  5. I believe you just push any random bone door and you go straight to the big door with all the locks on it.
  6. Yep, no Kate and no spitting contest. IIRC, the map pieces go as follows: Rapp Scallion: Woodsmith just lets you take the nails without needing to saw off the peg leg; lock Stan in the coffin and take the crypt key; open the crypt and each coffin already has the pirate names on them so no Famous Pirate Quotations needed. The map is just lying in the coffin so no Ash 2 Life necessary, therefore no Rapp Scallion resurrection sequence. Captain Marley: The map doesn't fly away after Elaine throws it out the window, you can just pick it up. Therefore, no cliffside, so no fisherman, so no treehouse, so no bone dance. Young Lindy: Buy it outright from the antique shop. No Mad Monkey, no Kate, no spitting contest. Rum Rogers: No monkey wrench puzzle, the waterfall is already shut off. Rum Rogers is gone so no drinking contest, you can push any brick and go down to the skeleton and grap the map piece. I don't think you have to enter the library once in Lite mode.
  7. Well, that was quick. 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 2/6 🖤🖤🖤💛💛 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  8. I think the mistake MI2 made with its Lite mode was removing entire characters and locations to streamline the game, which resulted in the game feeling incomplete, like you were missing out on content. No spitting contest or Kate Capsize, no Rapp Scallion resurrection, no Bone dance, it was overkill with the cuts. Compare that with Curse, where you still get to experience the scope of the adventure, the puzzles are just easier. I think the Lite mode was made in a rush and as a bit of a joke with the whole "this mode is for the press" thing and so less effort was put in to make it a legitimate way of playing through the game. This time though, I think Ron will be actively making sure this is still a more complete experience, but just less of a challenge for less seasoned players.
  9. I didn't even think this was a word when I typed it in 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 6/6 💛💚🖤🖤🖤 🖤💚💚💛🖤 💛💚💚🖤🖤 🖤💚💚💛🖤 🖤💚💚🖤💚 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  10. The question is...who purchased the option after it expired with Double Fine?
  11. Good on Ron for shutting it down, but holy shit I wish it wasn't necessary. There's been a lot of unnecessary hate. We're getting a new Monkey Island game, we should be so grateful for that. May I also point out that it's not like he's gone and turned it into a kart racing game or a first person shooter, it's going to be an honest-to-goodness point and click with a story that has the characters we know and love, and really, that's what counts.
  12. It seems like they're still busy in the recording studio for the voices. I don't expect it will be too long though before we get more stuff. I doubt we'll be waiting until Summer Game Fest, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the game's out by then. Fingers crossed that next week we'll get a trailer and some more interviews. I agree that PAX would've been the best place to show something though. It's not over yet though.
  13. No...no it's not. 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 💛💚🖤🖤🖤 🖤🖤🖤🖤💚 🖤💚🖤💚💚 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  14. I was planning to get them printed out onto an adhesive poster, what is the actual page size I'd need to print them to? Is it just standard A4?
  15. I think this also goes to show how much creative projects can change once you start to sit down and actually make the thing. That's why I always knew Ron was never going to 100% adhere to his 2013 blog post. You have all these thoughts and ideas that feel so rigid when you first come up with them but if you're not open enough to let those things change, sometimes beyond recognition, you end up with something unchallenging and kinda soulless. I know it sounds really cliche and pretentious, but so much of the creative journey is born out of letting the ride take you away into places unknown. Not only that, but when you're working on something as collaborative as a videogame, you have to listen to the input of others. This is I think where conversations with Dave Grossman probably had a lot to do with how Return in its current form took shape. It doesn't mean that he "compromised his vision" or "broke his promises to the fans", it just means that he surrendered to the process. We all love Monkey Island 2 for what it became at its final stage, not for the original design document, and who knows, maybe that one would''ve been good too, but just like a film script, it's just a blueprint, it's not a religious text.
  16. Do we know if Ron or anyone representing Terrible Toybox will be at PAX East tomorrow? I know Devolver are there but they don't seem to be indicating that Monkey Island is one of the things they're showing. I REALLY hope we get something though, that would be the perfect time to get a lot of eyes on the game. Otherwise the next big convention is Summer Game Fest which I believe is all online and we don't even know if the game will be out before or after that. I'm just starved for info now, even though it's only been 2 weeks since the announcement 😂
  17. That was way harder than it should've been for what it was. 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 5/6 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 🖤💛💚🖤🖤 💛🖤💚💛💛 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  18. I think that's probably what will happen. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if a Curse remaster was already in the works. Once Skunkape are done with Sam & Max, they'll need something new to work on, and Tales would be perfect if they're not already working on a new Sam & Max season. I could even see them doing a second season of Tales if the new Telltale pass on it (they seem to still be solely focused on post-Walking Dead style games). I would also love to see a remaster of Escape, even if it's just for completion's sake. It'd be great if the Special Editions of 1&2 got a second pass to fix some of the unfinished art (MI1 melee forest especially) and weird removals of things (opening credits in MI2, vertical scrolling, etc), but I think that part might be wishful thinking. Maybe if they got ported to the Switch I could see them tweaking it a bit and why not patch the PC version while you're at it? It'd even be worth it just to update MI1 to have voice in classic mode and be able to mix and match the new music with the old graphics (especially in MI2 which not even the Ultimate Talkie Edition can do); basically just adding the features that were put into Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle. As for other Lucasarts stuff? Give Brian Moriarty his Loom trilogy, and remaster the first one with fully voiced, uncut dialog. Craig Derrick has also wanted to get a remaster of Maniac Mansion greenlit for ages now, so I can see that being a big priority.
  19. I thought it was a gravestone...
  20. Finally! 2/5. though for some reason the share didn't work. Oh well.
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a lot more new info at Pax East which is at the end of the week. According to the blog, Thimbleweed Park was doing voiceover in January and came out at the end of March. Of course, that game involved several different voice actors recording the same lines because you were playing multiple characters, so we might actually be closer to release if we assume that Guybrush still gets the most lines. Then again, we also don't know how big the game is (I'm hoping it's a decent size, we already know of 4 locations: The Carnival, Melee Island, Monkey Island and a new island where it snows) , so there are a few things to factor in there. I hope it comes out soon though, I'm dying to play it!
  22. That still looks like white hair to me more than a chef's hat. He's giving me grumpy old man vibes, that's gotta be the storekeeper.
  23. Damn, you guys are making me want to watch Twin Peaks. I know barely anything about it too, other than it's a murder mystery in a small town and there might be some paralell universe stuff (?)
  24. Yeah, it's random every time, but essentially if you just save every time you push/pull the lever, you can load back if you make a mistake and just brute force it through trial and error.
  25. I've seen speedruns where they just save and load over and over again, trying different combinations until it works. Saved them some time having to backtrack between the storekeeper and Stan's.
