Return to Monkey Island "continues" or "concludes" series?
Remi replied to Captain Mystery's topic in General Discussion
“Captain Mystery.” Glad to see the legacy lives on. ;-* -
I’m not seeing the UTC release date, unless I’m missing something: Release Date 19 September 2022 (in 16 days) If I remember correctly Nintendo releases at midnight Eastern, too?

Which Monkey Island has the smallest number of monkeys?
Remi replied to Vainamoinen's topic in General Discussion
They likely changed that because the preceding games never hit the PS2, hence the vague reference to "the hit adventure series." So, in that sense, the back of the PC box's claim stands. But: Is that mere hubris not rooted in fact? -
PC vs. … Switch? (What will be your way of playing ReMI?)

I believe David Fox quasi-confirmed that touchscreen would be supported. -

It is also entirely possible for Jojo to have gone to Melee with Elaine and then traveled back to Monkey to hang from the totem pole. This is just science, people. -

Luckily, they are preserved and you can download the original versions of the games. -

The black one wears a hat so it's obviously the same as Smirk's, but the gray one could be a different one. Elaine ostensibly could have smuggled the Monkey Island one onto the ship -- or it could be the same type of monkey picked up elsewhere. -

For those who for some uncouth reason claims Smirk's monkey isn't real, I give you... It's the same monkey. Same. Monkey. -

Did Tales have more than one? I'm going with Tales. Wait! It has two, doesn't it? Are we counting the ones in the hold, too? This is an overly difficult question when you start breaking it down. -
Could also be Terror Island.

No, I was thinking the same.

To continue some admittedly pointless speculation, I notice the "inner monologue" of the interface has been replaced with a more traditional verb interface (as mentioned above): Presumably that is a setting that can be toggled?

👆. 👍. The later Monkey Island games -- CMI and later -- doubled down on really wanting to hammer home a joke by padding out punchlines with punchlines to the punchlines. So far, it looks like ReMI is keeping with the brevity of the two originals.

Doesn't look like any pre-release demo will happen.

From Wikipedia: According to LucasArts, The Dig's global sales reached 300,000 copies by early 1998, the highest sales of a LucasArts adventure title at the time of its release.

I kind of feel Schafer has gotten more credit than anyone else in the company. DOTT and Grim both appear toward or at the top of most "best adventure game" lists; as do MI1 and 2. Most who know the name "Ron Gilbert" know who Tim is. Also, wasn't Full Throttle their best selling adventure, or was it second to (of all things) The Dig?

You already did. ¬

I pre-ordered both, as that is just the journalistic integrity the people expect from Mojo. -
Definitely see your point, but I get more of a Wally vibe from him. An academic stuck in a pirate world.

Digital only for now.

They had a good run?
