Okay, Pedro is nuts.

I do believe Neo will get owned pretty bad when he fights Smith, but we all know he'll win (don't we?)

On another note: Welshman, do you have a copy of that sig you made me? If you do, plz send it to me here. And its good to see you're still alive bud!

It's funny how everything is becoming a trilogy now ... load of BS, IMO.

I mean, Star Wars, fine. LotR - no way around that, is there.

But Kill Bill, for instance, the PR talked about the story and so on, blah blah. But now they just talk the extra money that splitting will get them. Which was always the point.

Same for this. I believe there was the Matrix, and it did well so they thought sequen. Now there were two movies - and by the way I'm hearing *great* things about Revolutions - and they had some tying up to do, and decided to pull in a third movie to up the hype and $$ ... and then say 'it was always a trilogy' ... yeah, sure ...

Question: do people here think that 25 or 35 years from now the Matrix will have a 'mystique' like SW or ST, or that it will be another really cool footnote in movie history like Batman or the Terminator?

all depends on whether revolutions delivers.

i believe it will be a 'footnote in movie history' for its use of special effects and its blend of kung fu, guns, cool characters and funky music.

then if revolutions is as good as it looks and the story has a ending which it deserves then it will become a classic, up there with the best of them.

Okay, Pedro is nuts.

I know ^^ It's quite fun being nuts.

Nah, I just like Smith more than Neo, after all he makes a far better villain than Neo makes a hero.

And about wether or not Neo will live, who's to tell, all we know is that the Matrix will still exist after Revolutions, since on the site of the game The Matrix: Online (MMORPG) it's stated that that game will take place where Revolutions left off. So in other words, after whatever happens in Revolutions, the Matrix will still be there. Along with Agents to bump into, and run away from n.n

Kill bill isn't a trilogy, it is a 5 hour film split into 2 parts because nobody would watch a 5 hour film. And considering all the grief fans have given studios over the years for wrecking decent films by hacking them to pieces to shorten the length (dune, once upon a time in america, etc..) i think this is a decent compromise.

The matrix was a single film, which did amazingly well, and then it was a trilogy. It was never 2 films since they filmed 2 & 3 at the same time. Although I seem to remember hearing originally that 2 &3 were going to be a prequel and a sequel. But things change. The only real parallel to the Matrix trilogy i can think of is Back to the Future.

Nothing will have a mistique like SW, however if GL keeps killing it then even SW wont have a mistique in 25 years time. :D

Batman, Terminator, Aliens, Star Wars... all frachises that have been devalued by inferior sequels.

If the matrix is remembered for anything it will be for opening the western audiences minds to Eastern movies (Anime, Wire Work, John Woo gun battles, etc..)

PS/ Everyone wanted to go and watch Reloaded, but im findig it hard to get anyone to go with me to watch revolutions. I think it has already been devalued as a frachise by Reloaded.

Which is too bad in two ways - first, Reloaded didn't deserve the $$ it pulled, which was mainly hype-money. Second, I'm hearing really good stuff about Revolutions, and it will likely suffer. But if it is really good, it will prosper over the long haul, like Pirates of the Carribean, which was only #1 at opening, but was in the top 10 for 12 weeks, and is still in the top 20 in its' 17th week.

I love that image of smith floating in the air with lightning striking behind him.

I actually made an av of that :D :D :D

the only good thing I can see about reloaded is that there wondt be many pwople in the theatre on the opening day so I could go see it without many people bringing their whiny babies that cry through the entire movie and ruin it for everyone else

I hope that this one does better

I saw a behind the scene's thing yesterday and it showed a good deal of footage from the film.

The Super Brawl:

The super brawl starts off like you'd expect. Neo and Smith run at each other and begin fighting. Neo blocks all of smiths attacks and hits him a few times. Smith seems un effected and eventually swings for Neo. Neo swings for Smith. Both fists hit at the same time knocking the two backwards. They stand up. And jump at each other. Then they fly up into the air fighting and have a airbourne fight. Backing away then flying full speed at each other. Then they go into a building. Then into a bit crater, where Neo looked pretty tired and beaten.

New bad guys?

It's either a special room or there are new bad guys that can stick to the ceiling and things. Trinity is fighting one and he quickly flips around to stick to the ceiling, but gets kicked in the chest and flys into, and gets stuck in the wall. It look cool. Then more people did it.

Also, I checked out the website and listened to the soundtrack previews. There is a song titles 'The Trainman Cometh' and it starts of calm then gets into fight music. I'm guessing the 'Trainman' is the guy in Enter the Matrix who tells Niobe '72 Hours. That's how long Zion last last time around' Kinda a crazy geezer.
