What games would you / have you 'multi-purchased'

The pending release of JA for XBox and possibilities of Mac release have me wondering.

What games have you:

- Purchased more than one copy of the same platform (for something like co-op or in home MP)

- Purchased copies for multiple platforms.

What kind of experiences have you had?

For me:

- Jedi Outcast (PC and Mac)

- Dark Forces (PC-DOS, PC-CD, Mac)

- Duke Nukem 3D (PC and Mac)

- Doom (PC and Mac)

... I originally played Elite Force on a PC (swapped with a friend for Thief ... we both wanted our games back and soon ;) ) so I only have Mac for that.

- I was assuming Elite Force II, but probably not.

- Jedi Academy - in a heartbeat ... if it happens ...

Hmmm...I've only really repurchased a game for very good reasons...

Galactic Battlegrounds Saga...which came with the Clone Campaigns. I bought that after I'd already bought the original Galactic Battlegrounds, because I couldn't find the expansion on it's own at the time. I sometimes leave it too late picking up expansions. :D

Rune Gold - recently purchased, again to get the expansion pack Halls Of Valhalla, which is no longer availabe in the UK. Had to order it from the US.

And it looks like I might have to re-purchase Jedi Outcast, since I discovered the case was empty, and I've hunted high and low for the disk, but to no avail. :(

As I say...I rarely buy a game again, unless it's absolutely necessary.

I know I have purchaced Max Payne twise because my other copy myseriously went missing. But it was definetly worth it.

I almost found myself buying another copy of Fallout 1&2 because they were just so damn good, but i came to my senses :p

Along with the payment, we also require a proof of purchase for replacement of lost items in the form of:

Game Box (or simply cut out UPC instead of sending whole box)

Manual

Reference Card

Game Disk(s)

NOTE: Proof of purchase will be returned to you along with the replacement item.

You can use ANY of those items. I used my CD (it was scratched). And the $5 is after 90 days is over. If its less, it's for free (you pay postage).

That's why these threads are interesting ...

When I started this, one question I *hadn't* included was

- What games do you like enough to re-purchase for the same platform if the original media gets lost/stolen/destroyed?

And I realized forgot another cross-platform purchase of mine: Deus Ex. I first played through it on PC this spring, and picked it up for the Mac ($3.50 plus shipping from eBay  ) this summer. I forgot about it because I've not replayed it on the Mac yet.

Hey, thanks! I never realised that.

Hmmm...is it worth me shipping that over to the US...and paying the postage back again? Or would it be cheaper to just buy the game again for £20... Hmmm....decisions...decisions... :D

I had the original versions of both X-Wing and Tie Fighter on my old computer. Then Lucasarts went out and released the "Special Edition" versions with better graphics, more ships and more missions! (dammit!)

Fortunately, I now own Special Editions of X-Wing, Tie Fighter and X-Wing Alliance to boot. They were selling all three games in a bundle pack a few years ago, so I got it.
