Be careful. Lord of the Rings has a lot of settings that would make for great duels or great hundred-thousand-strong-army battles, but not much in between. They can lok AMAZING, it's true, but gameplay and performance might suffer...as well as the fact that many maps couldn't be played properly with this game engine. Check out my reviews of Moria II and Helm's Deep (Darth.Hunter's...far superior to Nathan's in my opinion). Really...don't do Helm's Deep, the flow would be horrible. For only <32 players, though, you could have a lot of success in Moria, Amon Hen, Rivendell, Weathertop, Osgiliath...some great duel maps might be the Bridge of Khazad-Dum, the top of Orthanc tower, Weathertop, the pass at Cirith Ungol. Just some thoughts.

thats not nice Wudan. Anyways, wedge, being one of the people who I look up to the most, I've already figured that problem out :S What I have been experimenting with is that with the new brush setup, and NPC abilityy in multi player, to have very detailed LOOKING maps, however alot of it being in shaders or textures. That way I HOPE to be able to get the sort of large scale armies required for a LOTR mod

It's really too bad there isn't a warning label that comes with starting TCs. Part of the reason that there are sooooo many failled TCs is because it's very hard to make a good one - and most never get finished.

I'm not saying you can't do it, it's within the realm of possibility that you could finish something. However, the odds of completing something that qualifies as a TC is sufficient enough to wager that Total Nuclear War among the nations of the Earth will happen before you release a TC.

Ugh. Your website needs a redesign - I need to talk to whoever your webmaster is.

The Moria map needs a lot of work, too. The lighting is bad, and Balin's Tomb looks brand new, instead of broken down and crumbling like it did in the movie. It just needs more detail overall.

Best of luck to you on this, but I'm inclined to agree with Wudan. I've seen a lot of LotR TCs come and go (a lot of LotR models, too). Just set achievable goals and keep working hard on it and you'll get there. Work with what you got, too. Don't say "Oh, we want to do something cool but we're waiting for the SDK" and bank everything on that. Just some friendly advice. :)

I agree with the comment on Balin's tomb and how it looks like it was just polished up, whereas it should look dusty, rundown.. Literally falling apart. Also, it looks to large in those pics from what I can remember. I know its not easy to just go and redo the size, but thats just my 2 cents.

Not too bad... Not too bad at all!

Now, I'm not getting my hopes up for this MOD, seeing as I reckon it will take at the very least a year to complete!:(

But good luck to you anyway! I'd love to see this get completed sometime!:)
