samandmaxfiend Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 in the latest insider email they ask u to do a lucasarts survey.. theres all these questions abt sam & max in it..so every1 should do it..they may use it in promoting the game..or not releasing it at all?
Skinkie Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 Why do so many people seem to think this game is gonna be cancelled? FOOLS!
Jake Posted December 27, 2003 Posted December 27, 2003 Yeah its not going to be cancelled unless LucasArts goes out of business or burns to the ground or something. So yeah, don't worry it will exist.
samandmaxfiend Posted December 28, 2003 Author Posted December 28, 2003 so can some1 explain 2 me what happened with full throttle then? and why do the team have to present lucasarts with a demo 1st..instead of getting on with the game...
Skinkie Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 Full Throttle was proving to be visually unimpressive and appartently not so good story/playwise either so in order to keep from dissapointing fans with a less than superior to an awesome game they put it on indefinate hold.
Jake Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Full Throttle 2 and Sam & Max 2 are two pretty separate things. Full Throttle was an action-oriented sequel made by people who hadn't worked on the first game. Sam & Max 2 is an adventure game, like the first one, being directed by the same designers and writers of the first game. On top of that, the teams themselves doing the artwork and programming and managing are separate for each game. Maybe the Full Throttle people were missing deadlines, while the Sam & Max people weren't. Maybe the Full Throttle people were costing tons more money than the Sam & Max people. Maybe the Full Throttle game design turned out to be not as entertaining as the LucasArts management thought, while Sam & Max is meeting expectations for bein fun to play. Maybe its none of those things, but the projects are very separate, and aren't just judged as "those two adventure revival sequels" by LucasArts management. Just because FT2 got the axe doesn't mean Sam & Max 2 will.
Samnmax221 Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 It's just the fact that they have'nt yet updated the page that pisses me off Update form a few seconds after submission: It's driving me nuts!
samandmaxfiend Posted January 2, 2004 Author Posted January 2, 2004 i hope your completely right jake..im just a little nervous..because ive been waiting 11 years for this game and ive been through.. "supposed new comic from last page of the collected that never happened" cartoon series that only lasted 1 year csam and max comic strip that never happened sam and max sequel that was being made..and then the company folded... so i cant wait for that moment when i have the game in my hands.. and i dont wanna get 2 excited unless sumthin unexpected happens again..and lucasarts always make me edgy.... but sam & max eock on!
Samnmax221 Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 I'd prefer it made byt Lucasarts then what ever that other company was (Something machine I think)
Skinkie Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 Yeah the other way it wsa gonna be x-box only, scary.
Samnmax221 Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 I doubt it A good adventure game belongs on Pc.
Jake Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 LucasArts should be updating the Sam & Max 2 website very soon from what I've heard. Probably next week or so? In the mean time check out this new interview with Mike Stemmle about the game.
Jake Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 LucasArts PR department told me to be ready for "something" mid-January, so I will be No idea if anything will actually be happening or not then, but that's when we aim to start really paying attention.
Samnmax221 Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 Can you teach me to see visions in my morning coffea
nahmed Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 It is so ironic, reading all the posts of this thread again. Jake you were truly optimistic, and samandmaxfiend you were right in being nervous, in the end LucasArts did **** us.
Jake Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 Yeah, oops. What can you do, really? Things changed and I ended up being really wrong Sorry!
