At first I didn't like it, thought it was a bunch of BS and the NPCs cheat... but I do like it after playing it often.

And it isn't all about luck, it's got alot of strategy as well... do I use a good hand card to tie a set, or let him have it? Should I play conservative, and try to stay under 20, or go for it and rely on my hand cards to bail me out if I go over?

I was thinking, if someone would make a small program, like solitaire, but have the game Pazaak, I would play it. :)

You're damn right!

Playing Strip Poker with some girls would be nice, too!:D

No, I m'self also didn't spend too much time on it... and call me paranoid, but I do find it rather odd how some of the Pazaak players always get the right cards at just the right time

I agree with you two.Believe it or not,I've NEVER won a Pazaak game before.Call me paranoid or what, but I would rapidly lose interest in some thing in which there is no chance of winning or no profit in winning. To gain credits,I'd rather slaughter some Sith spit laying out there rather than playing this game.

uh, i don't know what you people are doing wrong, but it is quite possible to win at this game. and not only to win, but to win often.

i happened to fall amongst those who thought the computer was cheating as well. but one hand just to see, just kept hitting end turn at numbers where no safe player would, and you'd be surprised, but your chances of getting this magically easy 20 is just as good as the npc's.

it is, on the basest level, all luck. just as much luck as blackjack or any other card gambling game. (having a computer generated game of blackjack would have had just as many people whining about the computer cheating.) but building a good deck allows you to eliminate some of the luck involved in the game. and yourchances of coming back from a number over 20 to a perfect 20 are just as good as the npc's as well. as i have watched the computer/npc bust many many a time.

so if you take the time to actually try to build a deck, and you aren't a poor sport(i.e. give up and whine that the opponent cheats like the guy in the upper city cantina will after you beat him 5 times) the game can be fun AND rewarding. first of all it is rare to get a good amount of credits off a dead body. second killing some one will not get you a hefty discount from the owner of the yavin station. that is only one of the examples of the things you receive from playing someone and beating them ten times.

so miss out on an element of the game if you like. i personally did not much care for swoop racing once reaching manaan. but i took part in it anyway, as it was a part of the game, and i didn't want to miss ANYTHING. not only that but occasional mindless distractions are a good rest from a tedious plot.

I like beating that poseur Niklos on Taris. And if you're male, talking to that skank Christya in the gambling room.

The guy in the Anchorhead Cantina is funny, too. Thinking he's the ****, then when you beat him down a few notches he'll stop gambling, but would play for fun... he'd like to "visit his money sometime."
