South Carolina has been selected as the target location.

I live in SC & this is the first I've heard of it...bunch of wingnuts...

If they actually pull this off (which is not too far-fetched in this state), it will be the second time SC has led a succession and I will immediately quit my job and move to anywhere else.

The Bible teaches tolerance, why can't these "people" understand that?

PFFFFFT!

I cannot stand fanatic chirstians. Good GRIEF! Don't get me wrong, I can't stand fanatic anti-christians, either. I can't stand any fanatic, come to think of it......

Anyway, I'm a preacher, as most of you know. I can honestly say, without caring of what people say about me, that I do not condone same-sex marriage. I think it's wrong, and an Abomination to God.

That article does make some points, such as the country is getting more and more paganistic in it's views, such as Abortion and the like. It is STUPID to split from the country though. That's just idiotic.

As someone said, the Bible teaches tolerance. Now, That does not mean you must condone sins of others. Hate the sin, not the sinner.

*takes a bow*

Now, before you go kicking me in the face, let me say this. At my school, some gay people were being made fun of, and it was to the point were you could tell it was really getting to them. I stepped in and put a stop to it. I stood up for them. I put the bullies in their face. The people who I just got done defending gave me a "thanks" and I was on my way. I'm not tooting my own horn, I'm just letting you know I don't hate gay people because I'm a christian. In fact, I don't hate anyone.

1) We are now almost certain that homosexuality isn't a 'choice' that an individual makes but is instead a genetic condition.

2) God made us what we are, body (genetics) and soul.

3) If same-sex marriage is an Abomination to God then He shouldn't have set these poor people up to be social pariahs.

1) This is from people who think we evolved from monkies.

2) We have free will, and can make whatever choices we want to make.

3) If it is an aboniation to God?

"You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination" -Lev. 18:22

"For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper." -Romans 1:26-28

Nowhere in the Bible is homosexuality approved in any way. I could go at this all day.

I don't know why, but this post really upset me...

WTF is wrong with the world when so many people believe this BS?

My goal was not to upset, believe me. It was only meant as reinforcments to my earlier post, and in reply to "God set these poor people up as social pariahs."

And to me, it's not BS, it's my entire life. I've devoted myself to the teachings of Christ and the word of the Lord. If people can't handle that small fact, There is nothing I can do, and I'm sorry.

I'm just not comforming to "comfort" people. I'm not a bad guy, I just stick to what I believe.

I don't think you're a bad guy either, and I don't judge people by their believes, but I still don't think it means people should be prosecuted because of what a book tells us :-\

I thank you for your understanding.

However, I'm not persecuting anyone either. I don't care if someone is gay, I don't persecute them because of that. As I posted earlier, I defended a few homosexuals from being persecuted by a bunch of stupid bullies.

Even if they are living a lifestyle I don't approve of, they are still people, and Jesus died for them too.

What's so sad to me is, the bullies are supposed to be the good "christians" from the baptist church down the street. Hypocrosy at it's best.

I saw a talk show once, it had fanatics with a website titled "God hates fags"

...

It was really sad.

Atheism is also sad, no religion is to have no outlook on life, or death. It's a false short-cut past the ultimate decition. Where life ends in death, and there is nothing for eternity.

To have religion is to have hope.

I visited the website of that christian exodus group. it was pretty pathetic. Everyone should go there and read the mindless drivel theyve posted. I wrote them a lengthy email. I'm hoping for a response back some time.

I disagree. Im an atheist, and believe my outlook on life is much more sacred than many religious folk. Atheists believe that there is no god, and for the most part, no afterlife. I find that I take less things for granted, and make the most of the time I have here, rather than spend all my time worshipping some god for 1/7 of my life, hoping that ill spend all eternity worshipping him (yay!).

I'm just enjoying the time I have now. Everybody has to die. And there's no credible evidence of life after death to justify anything else other than to the point of theory. I consider myself more a person of science than of no god.

Sure, the atheists outlook on life may be bleak in that theres life, then death, then nothing...... but id rather spend eternity not existing than spend it worshipping a god who created us for that sole purpose. Doesn't that seem just a little aureate and conceited? Id rather believe in no god than believe in one who put us here to see whether we're worthy of living in his glory forever.

As a whole, i appreciate the need for religions. Most people need to have a meaning in their lives. A reason for existing. Just because some of us dont need that assurance and can base it all on science, doesn't mean we're lesser people, spiritually. We just prefer fact over faith.

"The deepest sin against the human mind is to believe things without evidence. Science is simply common sense at its best -- that is, rigily accurate in observation, and merciless to fallacy in logic" - Thomas Huxley

It also amuses me that these fundamentalist christian fanatics ignore the fact that we live in a changing world, and so much has happened in the last 2000 years. God's land has changed, god's people have changed, yet god's word is unchanging and is still applicable to our modern society in a literal sense? Seems a little strange. Most christians accept that evolution occurred (because its not longer just a theory, people. It's fact), but these people still insist on crazy notions like the world is actually 12000 years old, and so on.

What you notice about these fundamentalist creationists, is that most of them come from deep south USA. Mississippi, Alabama, the exact states that are pitching forward that their states be the new nation. Now no offense to either of those states, but I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say that their average intelligence down there is a fair bit lower than the average intelligence in one of the US's northern states.

"You ever noticed how people who believe in Creationism look really unevolved?" - Bill Hicks.

I'm not anti religion. I'm not anti god. Atheism is not anti god. Antitheism means anti god. Atheism means no god. just remember that, children :)

If anyone wishes to have an intellectual discussion/debate about the issue, feel free to pm me and we can have a pow wow in a chat some time, with whoever. Lets just make sure this doesnt get to heated here. People tend to flame a little in the swamp. :)

Sorry, are you from the south? Get out now, my friend :) you dont belong!

I know it seems a bit general, but from what I've seen, they value education less in those southern "redneck" states. Just a personal observation :)

bleah, Atheism doesn't mean you have no outlook or hope.

I really hope there is some magical land after death when I die, but I just doubt it.

Children may not pray in our schools
that's idiotic, Children can pray in school, It's just the school can't start the prayer or force students to pray.
