It seems I have succumed to the conformity of society and gotten a cell phone. It's pretty cool, but the ring tones on it are lame.

Anyone know a good place where I can get cool (free) ringtones?

I've google'd, and only found stuff you have to pay for =\

if you have a phone that supports polyphonic ringtones and has a WAP browser, go to 3gupload.com, get some ringers, and access it thru your phone. for instructions, visit the site.

Cell phones can be a racket. Watch out for the hidden charges they never tell you about when you get the phone.

I been screwed on this ROYALLY twice. Right now, I owe $300 on a phone I cannot even use. I'm thinking of getting one of those phones that has the minutes cards that you buy.

I've noticed that those with the loudest, most obnoxious tones are the ones who let their cellphone ring the longest.

Like when I went to see King Arthur there was this lady like that and then she talked really f***ing loud on the phone. When she wasn't doing that her boyfriend kept getting up and getting candy/soda or she kept talking to her elderly mother/grandmother. Also her phone has one of those bright blue lights on it so the visual effect was annoying as well as the talking.

You must be more restrained than me. On several occasions when someone has tried to have a cellphone conversation during a movie I'm watching I've told them in no uncertain terms that they can either turn it off or get the cellphone shoved up their @ss. No one has taken the up the @ss option yet.

I like having a cellphone since I prefer to be reachable in case my father's health declines again. I just wish more people had the sense to use some basic etiquette when it comes to cellphones.

That's what I have. I can't afford to pay montly charges, so I bought a Virgin Mobile flip phone at Bestbuy. You can buy different amounts of cards depending on how much you plan to use those minutes.

I SAW YOU AT THE LotR TTT SHOWING I WENT TO!

But there was someone like that there seriously. His phone rang and this dude right next to me gets up and yells out turn it off. No big deal. 5 minutes later, bam, it rings again. So he yells out, "Would you rather have me shove that up your @$$, or turn it off." You can guess what he chose. But then afterwards, we saw him as we were coming down the elevator. All of a sudden, right near him, my cousin yells out, AW DAMNIT! I missed a call. Erg, i should have just left the thing on. ERG. I look over and he looks like he's about to kill us. But he saw me and the friend I took with me and decided not to mess with us.

obi, it all dpeends on what type of phone you got, some have ringtone composers, you can program anything you want, and can download the sequences for free off the net...

ones with polyphonic ringtones are really cool, usually these come with a serial or usb cable that goes into your pc and you can upload tones into them, some you can get for free. If you do have one of these phones, as I do(samsung t100), just download your fave tune as a midi, much easier to get hold of a midi of absolutely anything nowdays, and using a program you can convert a midi to a ring tone format :D I have 3 final fantasy ringtones, the imperial march and a cpl of other things to use as ringtones on my phone....

if you are lucky enough, you might have one of those phones that is also an mp3 player, and you can damn well play anything thats an mp3 as a ringtone. my stepdaughter has one, its freakin loud.....great clock radio effect though :D

Obi - 95% of the time I have my cell on vibrate alert. It just beeps once and just vibrates the rest of the time. I refuse to be one of those people that Chase is referring to. I dislike them equally as much as he does. I only have a ring on if I'm like at home and I have it on the charger or something. However, I did get lucky in the ringtone department - one of the rings that came with the phone sounds like porno movie music, it's awesome! :D:naughty:

Oh believe me, I'm not one of those idiots who uses a cell phone like it's something special. I only have it in case I break down or something. It's not really a "cell phone" parsay, but instead a "tracfone." It's something like Groovy was talking about. You buy cards for minutes and stuff.

I don't even use it when I'm driving, I Pull over and use it if I need to, and I turn it off completely during movies. Like, I went to watch anchorman and left it off.

I still care about the public! :p

Thanks for the info, Acrylic and Manoman and Astro and everybody else ;)
