The Seeker
I just got this game today, and have played through a few of the levels already. I just had to say that so far they have outdone themselves with this expansion. If the pace and gameplay keeps up, we may have one of those extraordinarily rare cases of an expansion being as good or better than the original. Anyways, just letting you all know to buy it asap. you won't regret it.
FiEND_138
Yeah it sure does look good, especially the dog fights on a B-17. Plan to pick it up Friday
Kain
Yea, I was never into CoD...and I doubt an expansion'll do it for me...so I'm just gonna leave it alone. Eyea...
txa1265
As I've said elsewhere, Call of Duty was my 5th favorite game released last year. And a very good game it was. I picked up the expansion yesterday, and have played the first mission - it is everything you know and love. Everything goes to sh!t almost immediately, and it is fast and furious advance and retreat survival the entire time ... sweet. Like I say - these games are *way* too short, and have no story. They are scenario based missions, that's all. That doesn't mean they aren't really fun. I never played CoD MP, nor am I likely to play it for the expansion. Nonetheless, I already feel I have my $30 worth, and highly recommend it. BTW - GameSpy game it 3.5 stars (the 'we won't wuss out with half stars' thing didn't last long, eh? ) ... that seems low, but we'll see in a few hours when I'm done. wassup
Wow, thanks for the headsup, I forgot it was coming out this week. I'm going to pick it up ASAP.
Treacherous Mercenary
I'll try picking it up when I can after the video card. I played an MP demo and I think I'm impressed with it.
Samuel Dravis
I need to buy that sometime. I really liked CoD's SP. UO looks at least as good as that.
txa1265
It is very good, but with some complaints: - Heavily scripted - but not always crisply executed. - Guns feel less 'tight' than MoHAA and CoD - not as 'loose' as RtCW, but somewhere in between. - To many 'easy to fail' missions. In one, I had a sniper role, and had to eliminate a certain amount of enemies. The last one was just appearing around a corner and I was lining up the shot when the mission failed screen came out ... txa1265
OK, I finished it at lunch today. The Russian campaigns were quite good again - bombed out cities and hopeless odds In general I'd give it ~80%. It took ~7 hours, and probably ~1 hour was pointless trial and error reloads on a couple of missions in particular. Worth $30 - you betcha. Alegis
7 hours? They said it would be half of the original. I played the original in 7 on hardest settings. Oh well maybe thats just me
Tyrion
Eh, I played the demo and I was turned away from it. The one thing I've always disliked about the game was the fact that I was playing the part of a rambo. My allies will barely help with taking out enemies, there's tanks and I can do almost nothing to stop them, ect.
Treacherous Mercenary
The thing I didn't like is how the MGs handled out in the game. I wanted some better reloading animations, not a half asked job on it.... It was unreal and just.... Fake.. Maybe I'll wait a bit.
