Wardog1368 Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Ok argue it out here but if you ask me it boils down to how much money you have.
Revlt Coranier Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Well, for first person shooters, it's definately mouse-and-keyboard for me. It just feels right. But for an RPG-type game, I like a console controller.
SITH_ShadowCat Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 What's better: peanut butter or jelly? Well, if a mouse = jelly, then I'd say jelly all the way. For starters, jelly has better response, accuracy, and sensitivity. This makes sniping fun instead of frustrating.
Tyler_Durden Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 The fact of the matter is this, while being a sniper you want to be fast and accurate. Now if you're aiming at someone running by you want to be able to hit him fast especially if he sees you aiming at him. Now do you think you could do this faster with a controller or a mouse? The answer is obvious........
Vigilante Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 I've always preferred a mouse over a controller. You just have more control. Of course, I've always been a PC gamer, and gave my X-Box to my brother, so I haven't had much practice with controllers.
Evil Dark Jedi Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 I can definetely see this turn in to a console vs pc thread again. Though I like controlers. I am much more accurate with it and I love playing FPS games on Xbox.....................dont ask me why
rut-wa jodar Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 mouse+ Keyboard will always be my preferred choice, although some FPS play well with controllers. Most console FPS have auto-aim to compensate, but this feature can sometimes spoil a game.

I try to stay away from weapons that use auto-aim (such as the smartgun in AVP). Of course, you can usually turn it off.
Scavenger Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Mouse+keyboard offers the quickest reaction though..
age_master Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 i dont mind either way, its just what your used to
panzer214 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 even with a xbox i still perfer the mouse and keyboard BOOYAH!!!!
Whoopknacker Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Quote Originally posted by JediCrow Two words... Track. Ball. Im with you on that. Alegis Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 for racing games (which i don't play anymore for a long time) console controller/gamepad. Though i don't mind the mouse. For shooting and stuff, definitely the mouse. I can instantly move the cursur to a spot i want, something thats a bit slower with the gamepad. I definitely prefer the mouse and keyboard
GhostfacedKilla Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 i'd say i'd use a controller sure it takes a while to learn how to use it to snipe but once you get that groove in, ure a class A killin machine, so controller all the way. My second reason for cont. is that it was hard controlling the speed on vehicles ie(bf1942) I always thought this would b so easy to fly full speed or slow w/ a controller. but we'll just have to see who has the highest stats, some ps2 owner or some pc owner bcuz we can both play each other huzzah!!!
Doomie Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 I'm with most people in this thread: I like mouse and keyboard. Soem people say they can snipe awesome with a controller, but if you ask me, it'll never be as good as with a mouse. on the other hand, a joystick let's you control movemetn speed pretty well, but for me, that's where it stops. Mouse all the way. Quote You guys know this isnt an RPG right?' Are you talking about the thread or SWBF? in either case: ofcourse, what gave you such a ridiculous idea?
GhostfacedKilla Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Thats wat im saying , u say tomatoe i say toematoe......well just have to see on the stats site whos better somebody on pc or somebody on console. everybody in the house DO THE BLACK MAGE:band1

Hermie Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 I prefer mouse/keyboard in most cases, except for driving games and action/adventure. Youknow, like Zelda, Spider-man 2, the like.
Vader523 Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 I thought I would post this video of someone playing SOCOM 2 on the PS2. Then you guys can see just how powerful using a controller is. http://www.runt-designs.com/Runt.wmv I know it boils down to what you are comfortable with, but for you who say its impossible to snipe with a controller just watch the vid.
Master William Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 Yeah, I think future controllers need some sort of new cool feature that enables console players to play FPS games easier. Like some sort of ball or something on the controller.
