O_o... that's wrong...

1. you mean "else {", right?

2. "SetHappyMode" should be "SetHappyMode();" (given that it should resemble a function)

3. "while[]..."? rather "while(HappyMode) { printf("be happy!\n");" or something...

4. there should be only one "}"...

Its a little off, I'm a little rusty.

...yeah, seems so... well, i would have problems with pascal, cause i haven't touched it for some years...

Hey look! The Groovemeister (we'll talk) just changed his avatar back to thee goood onee

Everybody, everywhere always complains when I change it, then they all start building and sending me variations of Darth Maul, some wearing suits and ties. Don't know if it is a hint, or if they genuinely want me to remain the "Dapper Zabrak". Not that it matters.

Guess i'm sort of a slave to my own invention.

*shrugs*

It's cool though, it's the only one I never completely tire of.

well.. pascal was meant to be a learning language, but has grown out of it long ago, dudemr doc.

also, c has an awful crappy syntax and can not do anything more than other languages. and in the end it shouldnt matter if a program is written in c, basic or pascal, the code should be the same. but that of course depends to the compiler. at i think they should be at least be able to compensate "mistakes" like skinkers, but dont get me started on compilers now, because they're all stupid ******* .. :p

pascal is too restrictive for my liking... and i don't like that most usefull things are procedure instead of functions, so you have to write 10 lines were you only have to write 1 in c...

*shrug*

but that's maybe just me...

maybe you could code the things you do absolutely need as functions on your own?? or simply code a function with the 10 lines in it? hm. maybe that's just me.. ;D

...and i really, really don't like basic...

really, I started with basic on a atari800xe when i was like 10 and it was the only possibility i had, except for directly coding it in hex code. it wasnt about "like it or not", it was "to code or not to code". i'd like to thank basic for the good time i had until the amiga came to show me that speed is *non existent* without assembler.

...no, i mean many built in procedure are like "procedure blah(ModifiesThisVariable, Argument)", whereas in c it's like "char *blah(UsesThisVariable, Argument)", so that you can write many such function in each other in one line, like "var = blah1(blah2(crap(foo, baz), bar), b)"...

...well, i started on a 386 with gwbasic when i was 8... but i moved on and i don't consider it a "real" programming language...
