Mono_Giganto
I've got two models in the works, I'll have screenies tomorrow, one's a hilt model for RedHawke, and the other is the droid battle rifle from the Prequels. However, I have a question concerning shaders. I checked the tutorial threads, but I couldn't find anything on using Alpha Channels in Paint Shop Pro. Can anyone tell me how to apply alpha channels or another method to use metallic shaders using Paint Shop Pro? Again I'll have screens tomorrow. Mono_Giganto
Hmm, internet kind of shorted out on me yesterday, here are some pictures for you guys of those two models: I'm not too pleased with how the handle came out on this gun, but other than that, I think it's decent. If you guys think the handle really needs work, let me know. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mono_Giganto/RedsSaber.jpg This is actually an older picture, the current model is slightly shorter in length, but that gives you the idea of what it will look like. Shadow Blaze
I'm a paint shop pro user too mono but unfortuantely I have no clue about using alpha channels in paint shop pro either:( Nice models, and I don't think the handles are too bad. Nice hilt model too, it looks like darth maul's a little bit.
Jeff
looks good, i like the blaster. it looks much better than the blaster rifle in the game.
Mono_Giganto
Thanks guys, and Shadow, the hilt was requested by RedHawke and is pictured on his site, he even said so himself that it was like Darth Maul's hilt with and added emitter, so I can see where you're drawing that similarity! General Kenobi
Mono_G, I love that saber hilt. I can already tell it will be really nice once skinned. I like the gun too. Sorta has "the look" like it would be an "odd" gun. Something like a sucky dexterity penality but has the wonderous ability to knockdown and back your target when hit. Love em' both good work can't wait to see what they turn out like.

T7nowhere
Is that a blaster or blaster rifle. It looks good, but I agree with you that the handel does'nt look quite right. Maybe you should try to shorten the loop on the handel and make it a trigger ring and add a trigger. btw whats the count on it The saber looks great. bhanlon7
I like the barrel on that gun, It reminds a bit of a co2 tank from a paintball gun.
Achilles
Saber hilt looks pretty good. It's missing something though...not sure what. Something in the center to help reflect the angular look of the emitters? It's fine as is though.
Mav
I can see what you are talking about with the handle and I agree with T7, but it is still much better than I could ever do... lol. The saber hilt looks very nice too, I like the emitter design. Mav
Bob Lion54
It reminds me of a supersoaker. I mean that in a good way, though. I'm a nostalgic kinda guy. Nice work! EDIT: the sabre hilt is magnificent. Nice work on that too!!

Using Photoshop, & Kotor/TSL textures, the alpha channel has much to do with shaders as it can affect anything from transparency strength to metal shine... depending on the type of shader defined in your .txi file... It is supposed to be a blaster rifle, but yeah it's pretty small as far as rifles go. As for that loop, I did hand guard in the movies, but you're right, I may have to do that. The poly count is actually why it looks kind of weird, I had a decent looking handle that I was happy with, but it was too rounded and sucked up poly's like a beast. The current count is 1028, with the original handle it was almost 2000. I might have to remodel it again I guess. And as for the hilt, Achilles, do you have an idea of what's missing? I based the model off of the picture in RedHawke's webpage, so really, that design depends on what he wants, but if you can think of what's missing I can suggest it to him. And regarding the texturing, I have PSP 9, but it's only a trial version, so if you guys have any tips, I need them in the next... 11 days. And I'm considering making at least one of these models exclusive to XCom's lounge/arena mod, so that my Tach will actually do something. (And because I have AP exams in less than 2 weeks, and I need as many time extensions as I can reasonably take. )
