El Sitherino Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Rap died with Tupac. All that's left is a giant marketting device being used by multinational corporations.
Mike Windu Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I refuse to be flamebaited into this arguement. Go to the senate for a serious discussion.
ET Warrior Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I hardly think the discussion of rap could ever count for a senate-worthy discussion.
Acrylic Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Originally posted by ET Warrior I hardly think the discussion of rap could ever count for a senate-worthy discussion. I still am madly in love with you ET.
BongoBob Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Awwww, is poor mike pissed off and on the losing end of an argument I keed, I keed
Spider AL Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Rap is dead? Thank goodness. It was always so crap while it was alive.
Mike Windu Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Not really. It's just I'm one in about 500 intelligent rap listeners.
Acrylic Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Originally posted by Mike Windu intelligent rap listeners. Oxymoron?

Spider AL Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 intelligent rap listeners. Acrylic got there first. Contradiction in terms.
BongoBob Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Well it is a quick and easy way to make money. Just make about 12 songs with the words bitch rims tires hoes escalades 22's spinners **** **** gangster krystal etc. Bam. 200 million dollars. But yeah, that's why I like Jurrasic 5. They keep it old skool
Curt-Man Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 i love every single one of you guys! rock is where its at, rap= bull crap!
Mike Windu Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 So far, rap has done nothing to drop my intelligence, nor the intelligence of other listeners I know of. Top 10% of our class, the valedictorian... and yes, our class is fairly intelligent. <3
IG-64 Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 I'll never get arguments like this. In my book, if it entertains you, it's good enough. If any band of any genre has a song that entertains me, be it Good Charlotte or Led Zeppelin, i'll listen to it. I don't care if that makes me ignorant or what-not, it's just the way I think.
Mike Windu Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Originally posted by lukeiamyourdad Your asian. That soooo doesn't count! jk Maybe >_> <_< The valedictorian is Asian too. Damn him. I was valedictorian before him...
GothiX Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Yo ma bro, rap ain't dead fo' sho' yo. Ya'll knaw tha mah bitzzahs agrizzle wit meh.
jon_hill987 Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Rap was and is never clever musicaly, and very few rap "songs" (if you can call them that) have intelegent lyrics. so the two things that could make it good are missing. I was speaking to some 50 cent fans the other day, the only reason they could give as to why 50 cent was good was: Coz he is well fit innit. Again not something that makes music good. All rap is is someone talking over a really s*** beat and poor baseline. I'm glad it is dead, I just wish someone would bury it.[/rant]
jebbers Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 may i ask what influenced this thread? o and a bad joke...Why does Snoop Dogg carry an umbrella most of the time? Fo' Drizzle Dont hate me
El Sitherino Posted May 3, 2005 Author Posted May 3, 2005 Originally posted by jebbers may i ask what influenced this thread? Mike Windu's rambling about g-unit. And this 50 cent commercial.
RebelScum! Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 ^ What 50 cent comercial? You guys are a bunch a' playa hatas! Rap is an art and its not going to die anytime soon. I like a little rap mixed in with my rock but I'm not a turn hat sidways, hang pants down to tighs, huge shirt and spend all my money on jewelry to look "cool" fan. 50 Cent has some good beats, even though I don't really like what he is singing about . Snop Dogg and his "Drop it like its hot" was a hit... I thought it was stupid but everyone was singing it... Anyway i'm in the middle on this one.
